• Athletes/SNAP students register on November 1st

• Please follow your BGS advising procedures

• If you have declared, you must also see you major advisor

Basic Scheduling Strategies – Spring 2016

• Continue with math, science, foreign languages

• MATH 111, Math 120 or 200-level math class• Second course in lab science sequence• Next (or new) foreign language course (101,

102, 201, 202)• In many cases, you will have one more

Honors course in the spring• Save time for Honors Engaged

Specific Scheduling Strategies – Spring 2016

• All of you must complete the FYE (HONS 100 & 2 other Honors classes)

• What should you do if you have open slots?– Take a general education course– Enroll in an Honors class– Take a course in your possible major or start a new

language– Experiment with a new field

Unfulfilled core requirements – Spring 2016

• We asked all incoming student to take classes in at least three of the four core areas: writing, math, science, foreign language.

• If you do not plan to take math, science, or a foreign language this year, you must begin the sequence as a sophomore.

• Failure to do so will seriously jeopardize your ability to remain in the Honors College.

What to bring to the advising appointment

• Your Pace navigator & Major Roadmap.• Elements of your portfolio as relevant.• Your advising form with the top part filled out. • If you have already declared, it must also be

signed by your major advisor.

How to submit your Advising Form

• You must fill out all the required student information

• You must list your courses• You must get all required advisor

signatures• You may then bring the form to the Honors

Center (10 Green Way)
