Week 1

We are adding our own Maggie & Rose twist to making traditional Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns with bamboo and paper.

The little ones will get messy with Jackson Pollock’s inspiring Splat

painting technique to create their very own unique works of art.

ARTY SPLATY LANTERN

Soccer Adventure develops skills including passing,

control, dribbling & shooting, as well as building the

foundations of roles and responsibilities within a team and positional awareness to be ready for competitive fixtures.


In Make & Make Believe, celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival by making a little

dragon hand puppet, then go for a picnic under the moon,

‘lighting up’ the lanterns and having a Fire dragon dance!

SECRETS OF THE MOONCAKE

We will be delving into the fable behind the Mooncake

and learning about the Chinese tradition that brings the family together to enjoy this delicious dessert! The kids will be making the most traditional style of mooncake with lotus seed paste and a

salty egg yolk in the middle to represent the moon.

MID-AUTUMN FUN

The Cheflettes will be making a yummy traditional Chinese soupy sweet treat popular in

Hong Kong and China any time of year and learning the

meanings behind the ingredients used that make it precious and bring blessings

to the whole family!

The kids will be having their own Mid-Autumn Carnival, dancing with lanterns under the moon

and playing with Mid-Autumn inspired instruments as we celebrate and learn about the traditional characters behind the Moon festival.

Week 2

In art class, we will discover Chinese

tales about the legend of the moon in the

history of the Mid-Autumn festival. The kids will get creative and make their own moon while learning

about this most special time of year

for family gatherings.

LEGEND OF MID-AUTUMN

Soccer Adventure develops skills including

passing, control, dribbling & shooting, as

well as building the foundations of roles and responsibilities within a

team and positional awareness to be ready for

competitive fixtures.


In cooking class, the kids will make a Cantonese

favourite soupy dessert with plump and squishy

sweet dumplings and learn the meaning behind these sweet treats and how they represent the moon and

family traditions.LEGEND OF THE MOON(MAKE & MAKE BELIEVE)

In Make & Make Believe class, the little ones will recreate the legend of the

Moon Goddess, Cheng-E, and learn how she came to be. They’ll shoot down the suns that were too hot for the earth, appreciate the moon, and look for the Jade Hare that also lives on the moon.

AUTUMN SWEETS (2)The little Cheflettes will be

making their own Chinese dessert, traditionally made and eaten

during Mid-Autumn Festival and learn about how the legend of Wu Gang made osmanthus the main

ingredient in this sweet jelly cake.

FLY TO THE MOON

The Musical Munchkins will be flying to the moon this week, dancing

and playing instruments

inspired by the Mid-Autumn

festival and the moon that is meant to be at its fullest and brightest at this time of year!
