Alarm Manager: Excel Add-InAlarm & Report Generation with

Alarm Managers Alarm & Event Archiver is a Sequence of Events (SOE) database that collects and archives time -stamped,

text-based information from any device that can send information using serial, TCP/IP, printers, network printers, or OPC

A&E. The A&E Archiver is perfect for merging DCS alarms and events, logging network events, replacing sequence of eventrecorders, loggers, or any other type of device that sends text-based messages.

Introduction

Alarm Manager is Powered by Matrikon, which represents vendor

neutrality. This product works with third-party control systems

and applications. The Excel Add-In integrates Microsoft Excel,

enabling users to generate alarm and event reports within the

excel environment. Any user familiar with Microsoft Excel can

generate reports for analysis or printing purposes, or they can

leverage Excels capabilities to create their own reports. The

Excel Add-In is designed for shift supervisors, engineers,

technicians, and operators who are familiar with Excel and who

want to analyze sequence of events, operator actions, and alarm

performance. Easy to use, this Excel Add-In interface means

users can quickly choose and generate automatically formatted

reports that:

identify nuisance alarms that can lead to upsets or incidents,

identify equipment issues that can lead to lost production or

increased maintenance costs,

analyze operator actions that are indicative of process

problems or control problems,

and to easily review sequence of events for incident review

purposes, equipment warranty

validation, or simply to provide good information from a shift

hand off procedure perspective.

results of their alarm management program meet EEMUA, ISA,and other industry defined alarm management best practices.

Configurable Reports

All reports are fully configurable by the end user. A variety of

filters and parameters can be set to analyze a specific piece of

equipment, a specific area, environmental alarms, safety critical

events, or any other criteria that makes sense base on how your

run your operations.

IT Friendly

Although our product is primarily web based, that is not the only

aspect that is IT friendly. By implementing our connectivity based

on TCP/IP communications, Alarm Manager communications are

easily routed through firewalls to support DMZs and other

network topologies. In addition, all connections between our

applications are secured using Windows Authentication. Our

products support even the s trictest of IT standards.
