ABSOLUTEHOLESHOT

CRF450R

The 2018 CRF450R is a 450cc revolution and has been developed with direct input from Honda’s AMA and MX GP teams. It will be the fi rst out of the gate, fi rst into turn one and fi rst

to punch a blistering lap time.

The new 449cc power unit uses innovative engineering on both intake and exhaust side. On the intake, straight passageways reduce air resistance signifi cantly for improved combustion

effi ciency. On the exhaust side, the twin pipes divide close to the engine, facilitating the increase in compression ratio from 12.5 to 13.5, a key element in the greater power output.

It also boasts a seventh generation aluminium frame with new chassis geometry, lower centreof gravity and ‘factory’ race kit-specifi cation 49mm Showa USD steel spring front fork.

A titanium fuel tank, smooth, aerodynamically-effi cient plastics and ultra-lightweight lithium battery complete the newer, lighter package, along with electric start now coming as standard.

ULTIMATE OFFROADWEAPON

CRF450RX

The CRF450RX is based on the all-new CRF450R but has some crucial diff erences to create an uncompromising enduro focus. This gives the CRF450RX pure moto-cross DNA to deal with

any special enduro stage as well as the confi dence-inspiring competence to handle fl at-out trails, challenging climbs and tight, tricky sections with ease.

Both front and rear suspension are less fi rm, with lighter compression damping and a lower spring rate for the shock. There’s an ultra-lightweight lithium battery to reduce overall weight

too, ensuring a sharp, dynamic ride with real attitude.

The CRF450RX’s PGM-FI ignition timing map produces softer power and torque delivery than the CRF450R to aid traction. The EMSB (Engine Mode Select Button) provides the rider with 3 distinct choices: Mode 1 equals all-round smooth performance, Mode 2 gives the most easy-to-manage throttle feel and Mode 3 delivers the power in the most aggressive, responsive

way. Electric start is also fi tted as standard.

The CRF450RX is something truly special for the enduro world to ride and race. And, just like the new CRF450R, it is compellingly fast.

CUT LAP TIMES.IT’S WHAT WE DO.

CRF250R

The 2018 CRF250R features a brand-new DOHC engine, delivering 9% more peak power with improved corner-to-corner over-revving and a higher redline. Designed to maximise hole shot

acceleration and overall engine performance, it puts you out ahead of the fi eld from the off and keeps you there by cutting down your lap times.

The new CRF250R shares its centralised chassis with the 2018 CRF450R. This creates a low centre of gravity that drives the rear tyre into the ground harder, improving traction

and handling out on the track. There’s also the same 49mm Showa USD steel sprung front fork that’s supplied to the MX race teams in the Japanese championship, giving you racing-

standard control and handling at all times. In addition, the Engine Mode Select Button (EMSB) allows you to choose the riding mode that suits your style and riding conditions: Standard,

Smooth or Aggressive. Add in electric start as standard and you have an accessible, durable and formidable machine with a fi erce competitive edge.

HONDA TECHNOLOGYHonda has developed and applied many innovative technologies for its motorcycling range,

designed to have the greatest possible benefit for you and the world around you.

ALUMINIUM FRAME One-third the weight of steel, the aluminium frame is stiffer and lighter to make sure every second counts.

PROGRAMMED FUEL INJECTIONMap-type computerised system maintains strong power and responsive performance in all conditions.

WAVY DISCS Providing better heat dissipation and improved braking performance.

SHOWA USD FORK Larger diameter tubes above and smaller tubes at the bottom increase surface area providing more rigidity to deal with off road terrain.

HONDA PRO LINK REAR SUSPENSION Monoshock rear suspension utilises a triangular linkage system to progressively increase damping force through range of rear swingarm movement.

TELESCOPIC FORK Large hydraulic shock absorbers with internal coil springs allow the front wheel to react to imperfections in the road while isolating the rest of the motorcycle from that motion.

ENGINE MODE SELECT BUTTON Giving a choice of 3 riding modes; Mode 1 delivers standard ECU maps, Mode 2 pro-vides smoother throttle control and Mode 3 returns a more aggressive power delivery.

ELECTRIC START Instead of kickstarting the bike electric start offers a simple more convenient way to start the engine.

DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE

Soichiro Honda said, ‘We only have one future, and it will be made

of our dreams, if we have the courage to challenge convention.’

Honda’s philosophy in dreaming of a better world for people catalysed the invention of

the ASIMO, HondaJet, NSX and the legendary Africa Twin. Dreams can be powerful, they push you to achieve more, to explore new

ideas, new technologies and uncovernew ways of solving problems.

It takes independent thinking and audacity to pursue dreams. It also takes passion and

innovation to never allow the dreamto die and to shape them into a

reality for the modern day world.
