    Air supplies us with oxygen which is must for our bodies to live. Air is theocean we breathe contains 99.9% nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor and inertgases.

Particles into the air from burning fuel for energye.g. burning of diesel, wood and charcoal in fireplaces.sometimes referred to as "black carbon" pollution also known as indoor airpollution. many sources of Tobacco smoke, cooking and heatingappliances, and vapours from building materials, paints, furniture, etc.cause pollution inside buildings. Radon is a natural radioactive gasreleased from the earth, and it can be found concentrated in basementsin some parts of the United States.

    2. Noxious gases, such as sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen

    oxides, and chemical vapours. These can take part in further chemicalreactions once they are in the atmosphere, forming smog and acid rain,Greenhouse Effect, also referred to as global warming, Ozonedepletion (Release of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's) from aerosol canscooling systems and refrigerator equipment removes some of the ozone,causing "holes"; to open up in this layer and allowing the radiation toreach the earth. Ultraviolet radiation is known to cause skin cancer andhas damaging effects on plants and wildlife)

    short-term effects include irritation to the eyes, nose and throat, and upper

    respiratory infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia.
