Design and create a set of 10 Quiz cards about cowboys and Native American Indians. Imagine you are a 10-year-old child from your "Horrible History". Write a descriptive diary entry of a 'day in your life'. You will need to research this. Create a word search or crossword about the culture from your “horrible histories”. Research the history of an antibiotic, e.g., penicillin. How did life change before and after its invention? Research a piece of technology developed by the Aztecs. Explain what, when, and where it was developed and how it was used. Using a T-chart, compare an Aztec pyramid with an Egyptian pyramid. Write a narrative about a place and time from the “horrible histories culture you are studying. Remember to include a setting, characters, a problem and a solution. Set yourself a fitness goal or decide on a sporting skill you want to learn. Plan how you will achieve this. Keep a record of what you do each day to as you work on your goal...this could be written, photo or video evidence. After 2 weeks test yourself to see if you met your goal and write about it. Pretend you’re Goldilocks and write an apology letter to the 3 bears for damaging their property and stealing their food. Think of 10 questions you would ask a Caveman.

about the “Villain” of the week.

Does NZ have its own castle? Research 5 facts about Larnach’s Castle in Dunedin.

Design a Victorian dinner menu for Queen Victoria. What did she like to

eat?

What Happened “The Day You Were Born”? Record an interesting event on either the day you were born or

the year.

Create a fact file about children’s toys from the Victorian era.

What toys do we still have?

Write an acrostic poem about the

“Bubonic Plague”

Write a short newspaper report announcing the discovery of

Tutankhamen’s tomb. (Include a Catchy Headline!)

Make a 3D model of a castle. Have fun using recycled materials or use Minecraft.

Remember to take pictures of your creation.

Measure the height of each person in your family in meters (m) and

centimeters cm)

Make a card clock. Draw a comic strip to show your day, with clock pictures showing time for each

picture.

Fractions - Using pictures/ drawings of foods such as apples, oranges pizza or

chocolate bars demonstrate your knowledge of fractions.

Create a “winter” word search. Remember to illustrate this with

pictures that match.

Write a different ending to your favourite fairytale.

Make a booklet for juniors photographing 2D and 3D shapes in their natural environment/around the home.

Choose a character from a fairytale and make a hand puppet or mask

out of recycled materials.

Write about your favourite musician. Include the type of music they play,

why you like them.

Who is a knighted New Zealander? What did they do to become a knight?

When is our Queen’s birthday and when is it celebrated in NZ? Why do

we celebrate it?

Research and create a joke book to share with others.

Write 10 things you liked about the homework this year and 10 you did not

enjoy doing. Write the names of the activities clearly

Design and create a crown fit for Queen Victoria to wear to her

coronation in1838.

Read a famous fairytale, e.g., Rumpelstiltskin and retell it using a

storyboard.

Draw a diagram of a Viking Longship and label its parts.
