We don't need to be rich to show someone wecare though.

We could acknowledge them with a wave or a

smile. We can wish them luck or stop back by with a

soda or RM 5 bag of food.

The next time we see someone asking for our

help, the important thing is that we act on that

feeling of compassion in our heart, rather than

on those instincts of fear or assumptions of

    addiction.

    Homeless people suffering

    from mental illness

They should not ignore any of their family

    members, should have responsibility on

    support

Approximately 20 - 25% of the single adult homeless

population suffers from some form of severe and persistent

    mental illness

(National Resource and Training Centre on

    Homelessness and Mental Illness, 2003).

Homeless people with mental disordersremain homeless for longer periods of time

and have less contact with family and

    friends.

Depression is sometimes a result of drug or

alcohol abuse that remained untreated. Bipolar

disorder causes people to experience extreme

highs (mania) or deep lows (depression). If left untreated, these mood swings become even

    more erratic and severe.

This is one reason many mentally ill homelesspeople remain untreated and on the streets.

Without treatment, these people become even

more isolated from society. Therefore, family

members should play an important role in this

matter. They should always keep an eye on them.

These people should undergo treatments to get

    cure.

The people suffering from mental illness should

get cured so that we will have more people

contributing to our nation. Hence, increases the

country's economy and therefore our country

will be one of the most productive country

    among the other nations.

Running away from home is often not something that is

planned. Deciding to run is a decision made on the spur of

the moment, and you might not be prepared, with no

money, no warm clothes, no phone numbers, or any idea

about where you might seek help.Running away from care:

You are in a stressful situation, like after the death of

    someone you loved.

These children are not meant to be in the streets, their

rights as children need to be preserved. These children

deserve better than this. They are the future leaders.

In order to help the homeless people, generating

money/income via taxes is one way. Goods and Services

Tax (GST) could help widen the governments tax base and

provide funds for the poor now reeling from a global rise

    in commodity prices.

We as an individual be responsible to pay our taxes sothat the government have sufficient money to lend a hand

to the homeless people. For example, can start one

Malaysia trust fund for the homeless

Government should consider that old buildings without

any use can develop into a shelter as there are quite

numbers of old buildings in our country / religious places

    as a shelter ( mosque,temples,churches)

Many places are limited in size and may enforce a first

come, first served policy for issuing beds to the homeless.Government may allocate funds to build shelters or low-

cost houses. The shelters may consist of big, private

rooms with many beds in one large room. The

government could liase with the NGO to sponsor food, clothes, money for their daily life. They could even

sponsor education for the children and provide job

    opportunities to them

When there are more shelters are develop,

homeless people especially hidden homeless will

emerge and they will have a place to stay. The

numbers of homeless people can be reduced. The

homeless become more spiritual and possess good

habits especially children when there are in

    religious places.
