BUSY HOMECOMING WEEK

DONATIONS. DONATIONS. DONATIONS.

Thank you to North grandparent, Ruth Lundblad (above, right,

with student volunteers), for donating to the North Food Pantry

this week.

Thank you, also, to

amazing Husky

WearHouse! We also

received an

anonymous donation

for the Husky

WearHouse this

your support! We

couldn’t run this

program without you!

WHAT IS BETTER THAN RECEIVING DONATIONS?

The opportunity to give away the amazing items to students at

North, as well as the opportunity for student volunteers to help

their peers!

During the month of September, we helped 55 students find

Husky clothing in the WearHouse. More than 75 Husky

WearHouse items flew out the door, including 24 sweatshirts! If

you have sweatshirts to donate, now’s the time! We’d

appreciate your help with re-stocking our shelves!

You can drop off Husky apparel at the main office at North High

School, attention Janelle Patenaude, or contact her directly at

emergency support for North High School

students when extenuating circumstances

arise that may inhibit their learning.

ODYSSEY OF THE MIND NEWS

“Odyssey of the Mind” – Looking for the Creative, the Dramatic, the Mechanic and Artistic!

This year the ECASD will once again provide students the opportunity to participate in programming to help develop their

creative, dramatic, mechanic, and artistic talents. Students in all grade levels have the option to participate in an after-school

program called Odyssey of the Mind.

Odyssey of the Mind is the original creative problem-solving program and one of the largest and most successful worldwide! It

was founded 37 years ago and has been active in Wisconsin for over 30 years. Odyssey of the Mind in the Eau Claire Area School

District relies heavily on parent volunteers to provide coaching for elementary teams. If you are interested in forming and/or

coaching a team at your elementary school, contact me for more information.

All teams will attend the state competition in Madison on Saturday, March 19, 2022. Transportation is provided and the celebration

is awesome!

A Family Interest meeting will be held on Thursday, October 7th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the District Office. Michelle Kooiker and

Laura Schlichting will share information about this year’s program.

Contact Laura Schlichting, Administrator of Talented and Gifted Education, for more information at 715-852-3070 or

[email protected].
