Principal’s report

BUILDING CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY

Children who are able to share their time, space and possessions are generally happier with a wider circle

of friends. The important adults in the children’s lives need to model the behaviours that will encourage

their children to understand the need to be active contributors in country communities. This can be done

by:

1)Modelling Generosity: Have your children observed you being charitable and helpful towards others?

2)Providing Opportunities for children to feel they are helping others: Helping others strengthens

children's self esteem and a sense that they can contribute to the well being of others.

3)Develop traditions of becoming a charitable family: This will promote a sense of connectedness to their

community.

4)Encourage helping at home: This is a logical part of living within a group and a community.

5)Recognise that each child contributes in their own way.

Zone cross country

As last Friday was a washout for cross country, the alternate date is

this Friday 1st June. The bus will leave at 8.30 am sharp.

Unfortunately students involved in the Dance Festival are unable to

attend due to the clash of dates. Refunds for Cross Country or

Music Aviva will be available. Please return your permission note

before Friday 1st June. Any concerns please contact the school.

Sports report

Our boys rugby league team were

defeated by Sir Henry Parkes Tenterfield

last week.

The Zone Cross Country was postponed

from last Friday to this Friday. That does

clash unfortunately with the Dance

Festival and Music Aviva.

The open girls and boys

soccer teams will be playing

their knockout matches next

Monday.

Open boys rugby league

Last Wednesday the 23rd May, our Opens Boys Rugby League team played Tenterfield in the second round of the Westmont Shield Knockout. The boys competed very well for the entire game against a strong team. The entire IPS team gave their best and never gave up while everyone displayed excellent sportsmanship. Mr Robinson would like to congratulate the boys that while they lost the game everyone showed great courage to play their best. Well done boys.

Healthy bites

The recommended

daily intake of fruit

and vegetables for

children is two serves of fruit and

five serves of vegetables. It really

helps kids get these quantities if

we include children in food

preparation and selection. Also

try to ensure that fresh fruit and

vegetables are easy to reach in

the fridge or fruit basket.

You can do it!

Getting Along
