Dear Parents/Guardians
Fancy Dress Ball: What a fantastic Fancy Dress Ball for 2019! It was great to see so many families in attendance last night and so many great costumes! A big thank you to Ms Desbois for putting together such a great dance program for our students and to Mrs Karen Healy for helping choreograph the year 6 dance. A thank you must also go out to Mr Oats for helping set up for the evening and to Ergon Energy for providing the lighting. Finally I would also like to thank the P&C for a huge effort behind the scenes in organizing the raffles, food/drinks and supper for the students. Without all these contributions we wouldn’t be able to stage such a great night. Enrolments are now open for 2020! We think Home Hill State Primary is a great school and we look forward to meeting our new students in 2020. A reminder Prep enrolments for 2020 are now open. We would encourage you to come and collect an enrolment form for your child. For new or prospective Prep Students in 2020 we are holding a Prep Open Day on Thursday October 24th 9-11am in our Prep Precinct. Home Hill Hatchlings Playgroup: Home Hill State School will be providing a Playgroup every Thursday from 9-11am commencing Week 1 of Term 4 in the Hall. The Playgroup will have a fully qualified Teacher, Mrs Tracie Duthie, and Teacher Aide, Mrs Tracy Loizou. Please contact Administration if you would like to attend. We look forward to seeing you at our school for this great initiative. Education Week: State Education Week commences the week of Monday 21st October. We have many activities planned to make this a fantastic week for all our students. Several of our year 5 and 6 students are also preparing speeches over the Spring Holidays in preparation for the Kidby and Colls speak offs in Education Week on Friday 25th October. Parents are most welcome to attend this event. Regards Brad Keioskie Acting Principal

GREAT
work!
Week 10. An exciting end to Term 3 was had with 2 excursions on Monday and an Induction Day at Home Hill High School for Year 6 students from local Schools. I heard it said by our students “that they are so excited to be going to High School next year!” It sounds like the Induction Day was a great success! In turn we had an annual weeklong visit from Year 10 and 11 students from Home Hill High School. We have had a great week with 8 students assisting in classes and helping out. Our classes have enjoyed their interaction. On behalf of staff at our School it is also heartening to see our former students return as emerging young adults. Thank you team for your contribution this week!
The Fancy Dress Ball was again a resounding success. Thank you to Mr Oats for setting up the lights and Basket Ball courts. Thanks to Ms Desbois for dance selection and training. I have heard teachers from other Schools comment on “the excellent dance selection and participation” encouraged at HHSS. We are a fortunate School Indeed. Such comments apply equally to the staff dance too! It heard it was a GREAT night! I am so sorry that I couldn’t be there. So with the close of Week 10 of Term 3, I wish everyone a safe and refreshing holiday period. Brekky Club will start the new term on Tuesday the 8th of October. See you then about Our Great School! Kindest Regards, Chappie Gwen
