Home Electricity Monitor

What is ?

• TED = The Energy Detective • Home Electricity Monitor• Installs in the breaker panel• Displays real time electricity information• Provides dollar amount of electricity• Projects monthly usage to predict bills• Displays electricity usage used thus far in

billing cycle

What are the Benefits of using ?

• Instantly and conveniently view electricity data in your home

• Lower your electricity bill by an average of 12% by being constantly aware of usage

• View an extremely accurate estimate of projected monthly bill

• View monthly usage thus far in cycle• Make better decisions to save electricity

Home Electricity Monitor Studies• The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)

conducted a Residential Electricity Use Feedback Study that shows if a homeowner has real-time access to their electricity data, they will save 8-15% off their electricity bill.

• In 2006, an independent Oxford University study found that homeowners getting direct feedback on their power consumption reduced their electricity use by 5% to 15%.

How does TED work?Measuring Transmitting Unit and set of Current Transformers connect

inside the breaker panel

A power line carrier signal is sent from the breaker panel to the Display Unit

Electricity produced by utility travels to homes in

the breaker panel

Homeowners can save an average of 10-15% off their

electricity bill by monitoring usage

What are the main components?Measuring Transmitting Unit

and Current Transformers

The Current Transformers clamp around the two main incoming

conductors of a panel. The Measuring Transmitting Unit

wires into a breaker to transmit the power line carrier signal.

Remote Display Unit

The Remote Display Unit plugs into an outlet and delivers real time data. Homeowners can

instantly see their current usage, project monthly bills, and see

their total usage thus far in the billing cycle.

Installation Inside the Breaker Panel

Customer Feedback

“I have to tell you this is the first time I have contacted a company because how happy I am with a product. I have less than 2 months using the TED 1001 and I have already saved more than $100 on my power bill. This product is just awesome and it's incredible how being able to see your power consumption in real time makes you to be more careful. I have moved from consuming 12Kw/h a day to 5Kw/h. We used to be the house with the highest consumption in our neighborhood, now we are on the opposite. I was confident that the problem was with the electrical company but TED proved me wrong, the reality was that we were consuming a LOT of electricity.”
