Review of 2006

Holywood Family Trust was formed out of a Christian expression of concern and love for people with a variety of needs. During 2006 we have been able to increase our capacity in terms of helping individuals, families and the wider community. We do hope that you will find encouragement in this report which will focus on some of the key activities and events that our staff and volunteers have been involved in.

During the year we further defined our vision and values and revisited our strategic aims and objectives which are as follows…

1. To provide high quality childcare and youth activities 2. To provide specific activities which assist in the mental, emotional and

physical well-being of individuals and families 3. To undertake focused educational learning activities to help socially disadvantaged people make healthier choices and to train staff and volunteers

4. To facilitate activities and events that promote social inclusion of minority

groups and create reconciliation opportunities 5. To participate in networks at local, regional and national level, developing working partnerships and partake in actions emanating from the strategic plans of statutory bodies so as to make positive contributions and to facilitate active citizenship through volunteering opportunities

In these areas we were able to build on our previous years programmes, and both individuals and projects gained recognition by achieving a number of quality awards and certifications. The directors wish to acknowledge the generous grant support received during the year from the organisations listed in the financial summary and donations made by individuals. As a result of these grants and generous donations, children’s projects were enhanced and additional youth activities were undertaken. Counselling services were developed and various good relations activities and educational classes carried out.

The directors and management team wish to thank all those involved for their hard work in developing Holywood Family Trust. Once again, special thanks goes to the all volunteers and staff who helped with various projects and also the members of Holywood Christian Fellowship Church for their support and encouragement in the ongoing development of the work.
