SCRIPTURE READINGSTODAY’S EPISTLESHebrews 1:10-2:3 “In the beginning Thou, O Lord, didst found the earth, and the heavens are the work ofThy hands; they will perish, but Thou remainest; they will all grow old like a garment, like a mantle Thouwilt roll them up, and they will be changed. But Thou are the same, and Thy years will never end.” But towhat angel has He ever said, "Sit at my right hand till I make thy enemies a stool for thy feet?” Are they notall ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation? Therefore wemust pay the closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For if the messagedeclared by angels was valid and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shallwe escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to usby those who heard him, while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and bygifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his own will.Hebrews 7:26-8:2 Brethren: It was fitting that we should have such a High Priest, holy, blameless, unstained, separated from sinners, exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, tooffer sacrifices daily, first for His own sins and then for those of the people; He did this once for all when Heoffered up Himself. Indeed, the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of theoath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son Who has been made perfect forever. Now the point inwhat we are saying is this: we have such a High Priest, one Who is seated at the right hand of the throne ofthe Majesty in heaven, a Minister in the sanctuary and the true Tent which is set up not by man but by theLord.TODAY’S GOSPELSMark 2:1-12 At that time Jesus entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in thehouse. Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not evennear the door. And He preached the word to them. Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who wascarried by four men. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered theroof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic waslying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” And some ofthe scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this Man speak blasphemies likethis? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that theyreasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed andwalk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins – He said to theparalytic, I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Immediately he arose, took up thebed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “Wenever saw anything like this!”John 10:9-16 The Lord said, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and outand find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that theymay have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherdgives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; andI know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I laydown My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, andthey will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.”

PRAYER CONCERNING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMICO God Almighty, Lord of heaven and earth, and of all creation visible and invisible: In thine ineffable goodness, lookdown upon us, thy people gathered in thy Holy Name. Be our helper and defender in this day of affliction. Thouknowest our weakness. Thou hearest our cry in repentance and contrition of heart. O Lord who lovest mankind, deliver us from the impending threat of the Corona Virus. Send thine angel to watch over us and protect us. Granthealth and recovery to those suffering from this virus. Guide the hands of physicians and preserve those who arehealthy. Enable us to continue to serve our suffering brothers and sisters in peace; that together we may glorify thymost honorable and majestic name, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto agesof ages. Amen.

PRAYER IN A TIME OF CIVIL UNRESTOur Father, great and glorious God Who art in Heaven, yet Who dost look upon the earth with compassion, metingout Thy justice and Thy mercy upon nations: look down upon our earthly and temporal homeland, the United Statesof America, which is now divided by strife, and send Thy Spirit, the Spirit of peace, upon us like a heavenly Breeze, torestore peace to our cities, our countrysides, and our hearts. May He, the Spirit of truth Who leads the saints into alltruth, teach us the truth, that we may abide in it, repenting of our error and ignorance. May He, the Spirit ofrighteousness, lead us in the way of righteousness, that we might cast aside and forever reject all hatred and bigotry.May He, the Spirit of Justice, strengthen us to restore justice to our land, that we may root out all corruption. OFather Almighty, adorn our rulers with a spirit of wisdom; adorn our civil authorities and the police and all whoenforce the law with a spirit of mercy and restraint; and adorn all who dwell in our land with a spirit of love for oneanother, regardless of race or class. O Father without beginning, Who at the breathing of Thy Spirit didst cause dryland to appear out of the churning waters of chaos when the world was founded: deliver our earthly homeland fromdisorder, and grant us all to stand firmly on the ground of Thy justice and Thy mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord,to Whom is due all worship, together with thee, the God and Father, and the All-holy Spirit, the Comforter, now andever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
