KHORENIAN DIVINE LITURGY CD AVAILABLE

Maestro Khoren Mekanejian is the Choir Director of the St. VartanCathedral in New York City. In 1980, His Holiness Vasken I, the lateCatholicos of All Armenians, commissioned Khoren Mekanejian, at thetime the Choir Director at Holy Etchmiadzin in Armenia, to compose anoriginal Divine Liturgy. It took the young musician three years to completethe task, but when he finally achieved what Catholicos Vasken envisioned, his liturgy became officially sanctioned for use in Armenian churchesacross the world. The Khorenian Badarak is a masterpiece of sound anddevotion. It has been performed all over the world, but until now, noprofessional recording of the Divine Liturgy had been made.
