Chattanooga Catholic Cemetery-Since 1886
Mount Olivet Cemetery has provided a beautifully
peaceful place in service to the Catholic Community.
Information is available by contacting David Hale
(423) 622-0728 or www.mtolivet.net.
The Bishop has dispensed the Sunday obligation
to attend Mass. “Pastors must routinely remind the
faithful that currently their obligation to attend Mass
has been dispensed and therefore , those who are
vulnerable, elderly or just not comfortable going to
public Mass at this point in time should continue to
participate in the many live-streamed Masses our
parish offers.”

St. Jude School is hosting a Virtual Open House for
prospective Middle School (upcoming 6th, 7th and
8th grade) parents on November 17th. There will be
one session at 10:00 a.m. and another at 6:30 p.m.
Please consider being part of this virtual event to dis-
cuss the St. Jude Difference! Please email
[email protected] to receive the Zoom Video cre-
dentials. Visit mysjs.com.
Looking for Ushers-With the COVID-19 restrictions
from the Diocese, we have been asked to seat every-
one who comes to Mass so that virus transmission
risk is reduced. As such, we have Ushers with a seat-
ing chart, perhaps you’ve noticed! An area where we
are in need is for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Masses. Many of our attendees may not be familiar
with the new procedures at Holy Spirit. If you are
willing to assist with Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
Mass as an Usher, please contact the parish office at
(423) 332-5300. Thank you!
Flowers on the Altar
Flowers on the Altar are in Thanksgiving
for Blessings Received.
Knights of Columbus have a barrel in the pavilion
for donations of new and gently worn coats for tots to
teens. This is an annual drive by the Knights of Co-
lumbus. This year is more important that with so
many people losing their jobs due to COVID-19 coats
are needed. Please be generous. Cash contributions
can be made by sending a check to Bob Greuter at
8000 Woodstone Dr. Hixson, TN 37343. Make out
checks to the Knights of Columbus Council 14079.
Thank you for your support.
Support our Catholic Schools Collection November
14-15. Just a faith the size of the smallest mustard
seed can move mountains. YOUR monetary gift can
make a BIG difference! The current pandemic has
affected the educational landscape for our students,
but our Catholic schools have demonstrated creative
efforts and grace to face these new challenges. Over
3,100 Catholic school students in our diocese benefit
from a holistic education that focuses on formation,
spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically, and aca-
demically. This year students in our two Catholic
high schools and eight elementary schools receive
these educational services both on-campus and re-
motely. While 76% of students across the state of
Tennessee received no educational program during
the spring, 100% of our Catholic school students con-
tinued their educational studies through the efforts of
our Catholic schools’ teachers and administrators.
Given the current economic situation, the need for
supplemental tuition support has doubled over the
past 5 years. A record $5.2 million dollars in tuition
support was given to families this past year. Help en-
sure all children have the opportunity to enjoy a
Catholic school education by supporting our Catholic
Schools Tuition Support collection. To make a gift,
place your gift in the offertory at Mass the weekend of
November 14-15 or visit www.dioknox.org/diocese-of
-knoxville-catholic-schools/.
Just a reminder that SVDP is still collecting alumi-
num drink cans. Please place your bags of cans in the
bin down by the pavilion. This is an easy way to sup-
port SVDP and get rid of your cans at the same time.
SVDP is only collecting aluminum cans for recycling.
Please do not drop off steel cans or bottles. All
money collected helps SVDP with rent, utilities and
food for clients.
