THE CONFESSION OF SIN (All) HOLY LORD, WE LIVE WITH A SENSE OF GUILT AND FEAR, FOR WE DAILY OFFEND YOU WITH COUNTLESS INFRACTIONS OF YOUR DIVINE LAW. SIN CLINGS TO US. ITS PRESENCE IS EVIDENT FROM THE WAY WE THINK, SPEAK AND ACT. OUR CONSCIENCE REMINDS US THAT YOUR HOLINESS CANNOT IGNORE OUR SIN. MORE THAN THAT, YOUR DIVINE LAW DECLARES THAT EVERY SINNING SOUL DESERVES YOUR UNENDING PUNISHMENT. WE CANNOT HIDE OUR HIDEOUS CONDUCT. WE CANNOT EXCUSE OUR OUTRAGEOUS BEHAVIOR. SO WE FREELY ADMIT OUR GUILT AND ASK YOUR PARDON, BECAUSE JESUS LIVED FOR US, DIED FOR US AND ROSE AGAIN TO ASSURE US OF YOUR FAVOR. LET OUR EARS LISTEN CAREFULLY. LET OUR HEARTS BELIEVE SINCERELY THE MESSAGE OF EASTER’S IMPORTANCE. LET OUR
DEEP GRATITUDE SHOW IN OBEDIENT LOVE TO YOU AND ALL OTHERS.

IN CHRIST ALONE (8:00).............................CWS752 (screens) (At the 10:30 service, the Ringers of Faith will play this song. Review the words as the song is played. Contemplate all the blessings of God, made possible “In Christ Alone.” During both services the offering will be received during this hymn.)
THE CONFESSION OF FAITH P: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, majestic
Lord, C: THANK YOU FOR CREATING US, REDEEMING US
AND CALLING US TO FAITH. P: Heavenly Father, almighty and eternal God, you are the
Creator of all things. C: WE BELIEVE THAT YOU MADE EVERYTHING OUT
OF NOTHING WITH A WORD FROM YOUR MOUTH. WE BELIEVE THAT YOU MADE MANKIND FROM THE DUST OF THE EARTH AND THAT YOUR BREATH IS THE BREATH OF LIFE. WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT YOU, IN FATHERLY DIVINE GOODNESS, WILL TAKE CARE OF US AND OUR EVERY NEED.
P: Lord Jesus Christ, almighty and eternal God, you are the Son of the Father and Savior of the world.
C: WE BELIEVE THAT YOU HUMBLED YOURSELF AND, IN A HUMAN BODY, CAME TO THIS WORLD TO SAVE
ITS PEOPLE. WE BELIEVE THAT YOU WERE BORN OF THE VIRGIN MARY, AS THE SCRIPTURES HAD FORETOLD. WE BELIEVE THAT YOU WERE BETRAYED, BEATEN, MOCKED AND INNOCENTLY SENTENCED AND CRUCIFIED IN OUR PLACE. WE BELIEVE THAT YOU ROSE FROM THE DEAD, APPEARED MANY TIMES TO YOUR DISCIPLES AND ASCENDED TO YOUR FATHER’S THRONE OF GLORY. WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT YOUR SUFFERING AND DEATH REMOVED ALL OUR SINS AND MAKES US WORTHY OF ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN, TO WHICH YOU WILL TAKE US ON THE LAST DAY.
P: Holy Spirit, almighty and eternal God, you are the Author of our faith and the One who preserves it.
C: WE BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE COME TO US WITH THE GOSPEL AND OPENED OUR HEARTS AND MINDS TO BELIEVE IT. WE BELIEVE THAT YOU ALONE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR SALVATION BY CREATING AND PRESERVING OUR FAITH. WE BELIEVE THAT WITHOUT YOUR PRECIOUS WORK, WE WOULD BE DOOMED TO ETERNAL HELL AND DEATH. BUT WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT THROUGH YOUR POWER AND THE MEANS OF GRACE WE HAVE BEEN CHANGED AND NOW STAND CERTAIN OF THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS AND ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN.
P: Holy, Triune God, Father, Son and Spirit, we believe that you are one God, the only God, and one Lord from all eternity, equal in power and glory.
C: THE LORD, OUR LORD, IS POWERFUL. ALL HONOR, PRAISE AND GLORY ARE YOURS, FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN.
