During the 2013-14 term, Holy Family University’s College of Education was highly effective in promoting the principles of the United Nations Academic Impact initiative. Of particular note is the following project: Based on the success of its 2012 project, “Bridging the Technology Gap: Bringing TeacherMates to Tanzania”, Holy Family University were once again able to provide educational assistance and enhance English language learning through the use of Android tablets and software applications for 200 Swahili native and English-speaking children ranging in age from 3 to 8 years old. These children attend the Mjombozi (Redeemer) Montessori Pre-Primary School in Mbagala Chamazi, Tanzania. Through this initiative, Holy Family University exemplified UNAI’s principles related to educational opportunity for all, peace and conflict resolution through education, and sustainability through education.
