Summer Singing with the Choir Anyone who likes to sing is invited to re-hearse with the choir before a Mass and then sing with the choir at that Mass. You could participate just once or every week! The choir will be rotating through the weekend liturgies. Gathering Rites Coming together, assembling, is at the heart of our Sunday worship. The reason behind each of the ritu-al actions of the first part of the Mass can be found in this word: gathering. The purpose of these rites is to bring us together into one body, ready to listen and to break bread together. Greeters In Our Lady of the Mountains today, there will be someone at the door to greet you as you arrive for Sunday Mass. We all like to be greeted and wel-comed when we gather for a celebration. If the greeters (and we all should serve this function for one another) recognize that you are new to the par-ish, they will give you a special hello and be sure that you have the missalette or hymnal and participation aids necessary to pray well with the assembly. Use of Water One of the first things Catholic do when they come to church is dip their right hand in water and make the sign of the cross. This ritual is a reminder of our baptism: we were baptized with water and signed with the cross. At every Mass, we renew the promis-es of our baptism. It is a baptism that brings us to the Church.

Do You Have Hearing Aids Or Wish You Did? Our new sound system has two new capabili-ties. We have one device with an earphone attached. We have another device for hear-ing aids that are equipped with a T-Switch. Both are very easy to use. If you’d like to use one, please ask an usher before Mass.

Where Are the Homeless People of Jackson? PLEASE COME and find out about the good work of our local Good Samaritan Mission! The Director of the Mission, Chuck Fidroeff, will join us for coffee and donuts on Sunday, July 23, at 9:00 AM in the Parish Hall. Chuck is a man with a deep love of Jesus and a heart for all who are hurting, hungry or homeless in Jackson Hole. Relational Wisdom Why do some people seem to have closer and more enduring friendships and marriages than others? Well, it’s seldom because they’ve got a higher IQ than others. There is another kind of smart, however, that corre-lates strongly with success in all aspects of life. The Bible calls it “wisdom,” and God promises great blessings to those who pursue it earnestly. I call this group of princi-ples relational wisdom, or simply RW. These timeless concepts can improve every aspect of our lives. They will stay with us overnight as they travel between Colorado Springs to Billings, MT for a mission trip.
