THANK YOU FROM THE ST. VINCENT DEPAUL SOCIETY

Please don’t forget to drop

something in the Poor Box

when entering or exiting the

church. This is so helpful to

the SVDP Society in aiding

those in need.

SILENT PRAYER: Our parish has

a group of people who will earnestly pray for

any needs you have. This is done anonymously

via a telephone prayer chain. If you have a

special need for which you are in need of

prayer call:737-1333, 731-4297, 738-3033 or

894-0726 and we will pray for you.

SNOW WATCH !! In the event of a severe storm

and a State of Emergency is called, all parish offices

are closed and all liturgies and programming are can-

celled. In each case, the obligation to attend Sunday

liturgy is dispensed. Mass intentions are, of course,

rescheduled. Before venturing out, it is always wise

to call the parish office to check our open or closed

status. Personal safety (yours and others on the road)

is our main concern. isten to WJBR, WSTW, WDEL

OR WILM radio for announcements.

LAZARUS

DESSERT BAKERS/

VOLUNTEERS

NEEDED.

Holy Family Parish is so lucky to have a

group of volunteers who provide lunch for

grieving families after funerals. Perhaps you

used this service or attended one. You know

then, how helpful a service this is to the family

who lost a loved one.

This group is in need of volunteers who are

available during the day to serve the lunch. You

can serve according to your availability and

coordinators will be present to give instruction.

Not available during the day? The group is also

in need of volunteers to prepare desserts which

can be dropped off the night before or morning of

the luncheon. Dessert bakers are kept on a list

and called when needed in a rotating schedule.

If you are interested in more information about

either of these opportunities, please call the church

office at 302-368-4665.

It is a new year. Please make it your

resolution to keep up with your contribu-

tions to Holy Family Catholic Church.

To make this easier, you can do Direct Deposit. Your

donations will be automatically taken out each month. No

need to write a check.

Call Judy Stives at the church office 302-368-4665 to discuss

how this is done. It is sooooo easy.

BRING IT HOME: This Sunday we celebrate the Epiphany

of the Lord, the ways in which Christ made himself known to

the world. The gospel reading this week comes from Matthew

where we hear about the journey of the Magi coming from

the east to bow down before Christ and present him with

gifts for a king. These Magi took a great risk traveling from

the east with such precious and valuable gifts, but did it to

worship and glorify the Lord. This week ask yourself, what

are you willing to go through to bow down and worship

Christ? Do you make excuses and avoid going to Mass and if

you do attend what gifts are you bringing to the Altar? We

should all strive to be as dedicated as the Magi.
