Commissariat of the Holy Land in CanadaGood Friday Pontifical Collection for the Holy Land

This year, the Papal Collection for the Holy Places will be held on Good Friday, April 18, 2014. We realize as a Church that Jesus is the bread of life:”Whoever eats this bread will live forever.” ( John 6.51) By sharing in the upkeep of the Holy Land and the mission of the Custody, we give witness to commit our life to help others; the lives of our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land. It is the assurance of a true friendship for LIFE.By giving to the Holy Land, we strengthen our bond of friendship with ourfellow Christians who live in the land of Jesus. We support the Christians who live there, eat there and who are struggling and live in hope. This word of the Gospel is an affirmation of the One who loved to the end. Our donation is a step forward towards the awareness of others and an invitation to change our relationship with the Living.

With gratitude,Gilles Bourdeau, OFM,Commissary of the Holy Land in Canada

Catholics celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation because we recognize that sometimes we fail to do as we ought and because we believe in God’s mercy and forgiveness. Has it been a while since you received the sacrament of Reconciliation? Are you unsure of what to do?

Maybe you are embarrassed, afraid, or ashamed? Know that the sacrament is completely confidential and the decision to come is cause for rejoicing. The priest can help you begin and you can trust the Holy Spirit to take over from there. Even if you don’t know how you can change your life, showing up makes you open to the grace that the sacrament brings. - See more at: http://rcav.org/come-to-confession/
