KNOWN BY STEWARDSHIP “Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will
acknowledge before my heavenly Father.” - - Matthew 10:32
Would others know that you are a Catholic Steward by
the way you act and speak? Do you share your Catholic
faith with others? Do you defend your Catholic faith when the
situation arises or do you remain silent? Do you pray in public
before meals? Pray for the strength and courage to be a joyful
witness of our Catholic faith when the opportunity presents
itself. Let us become the radiant light and bold witness that we
are called to be!
A sincere “THANK YOU” to all of our loyal sponsors, who year after year, continue to support our parish bulletin by placing ads in the back of our bulletin.
Please say “THANKS” to all of our sponsors for their generous support and mention their ad when doing business with them.
Mass suspensions severely impacted a great share of the income that Holy Angels Parish needs in order to carry on its mission of proclaiming the Gospel and meeting the spiritual needs of its parishioners. We are all facing difficult times, but please remember your parish as well.
For your convenience, consider joining many of your fellow parishioners who already participate in electronic giving.
If electronic giving is not an option for you, please continue your regular support of the parish, by dropping off your weekly contributions to the rectory office or sending them through the mail.
When using your collection envelopes, please DO NOT use tape, staples, stickers, etc. as these items prolong the process of counting the collection each week and in some cases, ruin the integrity of the checks and or cash inside. Thank you for your assistance with this and for your much needed continued support of the parish.
THANK YOU to all of our parishioners who generously continue to support the parish. Your sacrifice is greatly appreciated. See the info above on how to sign up for Parish Giving and help to ensure the ability of our parish to continue to serve you!
EGIVING…Sharing your weekly offerings with Holy Angels has never been easier! Electronic Giving has been available for a number of years and is successfully being used by many parishioners. To fid the link to Parish Giving, go to our Parish website: www.holyangelsnj.org, and sign up on the secure website, then manage your account anytime at www.parishgiving.org.
Once signed-up, you can use your checking account or credit card to set up customized recurring dona-tions based on the amount and timing of giving that best suits your needs.
Thank You for your active participation in Holy Angels Parish!

Thy Will Be Done Dear Parishioners,
If we pray regularly, we probably recite the words thy will be done quite a few times daily. It is one of the central petitions of the Our Father.
Do you ever stop to think about this prayer-petition? Do we really think that God’s will is not going to be accomplished in the end? I don’t think so. After all, God is, well, God. At God’s command absolutely anything can be achieved before we could even grasp what was happening.
Do we think that God Almighty actually needs us, needs me, so that He could be more all-powerful, more all-knowing, more all-loving, more all-just, more all-whatever? On the contrary, God would be quite self-sufficient without any of us. God created ex nihilo—out of nothing. There was a time when nothing else but God existed. So, obviously, God could get along quite well without us.
The fact of the matter is that God created out of love. He brought into existence that which previously did not exist—the entire universe, our world and us. His greatest achievement was the creation of the human person, made in His image and likeness. We were given intelligence and free-will like God. Amazingly, God chose to become one of us as evidenced by the Incarnation of Jesus.
So, when we pray that God’s will be done, we must realize with ultimate humility that in the end we are not in charge. God will always be in charge. Always. His Will is going to be done with or without us. And we, as humans, must conform to His Will, not the other way around. God is creator and we are creatures. Period. End of story.
What is so mind-boggling is that God has invited each of us into a personal relationship with Himself. We can either accept the invitation or reject it. We can believe or not. We can cooperate with His plan or foolishly think that we can do whatever we want without consequences. The choice will always be ours because God willed it so.
With this in mind, my personal prayer consists of a variation of this petition. When I come before the Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament I simply pray: I want what You want. I sit and give my time over to the Lord. I submit my will to His. I realize my place before Almighty God.
Perhaps each of us could ask ourselves a few questions to evaluate where we are before God: Does God really have control of me and my life? Do I love Him with all my heart, mind, soul and strength? Do I desire to do His Will? Do I foolishly think that I am in charge?
In the 1960’s Paul Anka wrote the lyrics to a song popularized by Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and various others entitled My Way. I beg to differ with them with a rebuttal composition of my own:
The Final Exam “And now the end is near,
And so I face the final curtain”— But after all life’s tests I’ve had, Of little or nothing I’m certain!
Yet still, dear Lord, I ask your help To guide me day to day—
And may the priv'lege be always mine To say I did it Your Way.

Reading 1 Jeremiah 20:10-13 Jeremiah said: “I hear the whisperings of many: ‘Terror on every side! Denounce! let us denounce him!’ All those who were my friends are on the watch for any misstep of mine. ‘Perhaps he will be trapped; then we can prevail, and take our vengeance on him.’
But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph. In their failure they will be put to utter shame, to lasting, unforgettable confusion. O LORD of hosts, you who test the just, who probe mind and heart, let me witness the vengeance you take on them, for to you I have entrusted my cause. Sing to the LORD, praise the LORD, for he has rescued the life of the poor from the power of the wicked!”
Reading 2 1 Romans 5:12-15 Brothers and sisters: Through one man sin entered the world, and through sin, death, and thus death came to all men, inasmuch as all sinned—for up to the time of the law, sin was in the world, though sin is not accounted when there is no law. But death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin after the pattern of the trespass of Adam, who is the type of the one who was to come.
But the gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one man Jesus Christ overflow for the many.
Gospel Matthew 10:26-33 Jesus said to the Twelve: “Fear no one. Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father.”
Reading I: Jeremiah 20:10-13 In the midst of the prophet’s gloomy mood, there comes this passage, expressing his deep confidence in the Lord’s strength and protection. He is “like a mighty champion.”
Reading II: Romans 5:12-15 Adam, one man, brought sin into the world. Jesus, one new man, brought God’s grace into the world. By Him, all people can be saved.
The Gospel: Matthew 10:26-33 This passage, part of Christ’s “Mission Discourse,” speaks of appropriate versus inappropriate fear. In their somewhat frightening new task of preaching, the Twelve listen as Jesus allays their fears. He tells them to “fear no one.” even those who might kill you in body but not the soul.”

Letters have been mailed to families concerning the reorganization of
Family Faith Formation for the 2020-2021 school year.
If you have not received a letter, please contact the Faith Formation office. We are working from home and checking phones.
Having consulted with the deans and the Office of Religious Education, Bishop Sullivan has decided that in-person Summer Religious Education programs are to be cancelled for the summer of 2020 in the parishes of the Diocese of Camden.
The ever-changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic; the Governor’s continued restrictions on indoor gatherings; CDC protocols and guidelines for safe social-distancing; and the many issues that reopening our parishes will bring, demand that pastors and parish staffs focus their energies on a slow return to the fullness of parish life.
Parishes that have the ability to conduct on-line religious education programs may certainly do so but these cannot be a substitute for the personal interaction that families must have with their parish leaders and the Sacramental life of the parish.
My Jesus, I believe that you are present
in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things and
I desire to receive you in my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you
sacramentally, come at least spiritually
into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there
and unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen.

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU
The cemetery offices remain open to serve our families during this extraordinary time and health emergency. As essential facilities, we continue to operate as near normal as possible.
Following social distancing guidelines set by Executive Order 107 (2020), drop-in office visits are discouraged.
The safety and health of our staff, visitors and families con-tinues to be our priority which is why we ask you to please call 855-697-7375 or your local cemetery office if you need assistance or have questions.
Much business can be handled over the phone, by email or through the USPS mail, and our staff will be happy to assist you in this fashion. You also may make an appointment to come into the office, if necessary.
Some folks are finding comfort in planning for their final resting place knowing that in case something happens this burden will not fall on their loved ones.
We are here to help and serve you.
Mary, friend and mother to all, through your Son, God has found a way to unite himself to every human being, called to be one people, sisters and brothers to each other.
We ask for your help in calling on your Son, seeking forgiveness for the times when we have failed to love and respect one another.
We ask for your help in obtaining from your Son the grace we need to overcome the evil of racism and to build a just society.
We ask for your help in following your Son, so that prejudice and animosity will no longer infect our minds or hearts but will be replaced with a love that respects the dignity of each person.
Mother of the Church, the Spirit of your Son Jesus warms our hearts: pray for us. Amen.

FAMILY PROJECT Using the three prongs of Lenten Practice: Prayer,
Fasting, Almsgiving, Mom, dad, children, why not
continue to make sandwiches for the homeless and
needy in these unprecedented times.
Ingredients:
Two Loaves of Bread Peanut Butter Jelly or Jam
Plastic Sandwich Bags or Wax Paper
Helping hands and caring hearts: that’s all you need.
While working, think and talk about what Jesus says in
Matt: 25:42: “For I was hungry and you gave me food….
I tell you solemnly, in so far as you did this to one of the
least of these brothers (sisters) of mine, you did it for me.”
Remind each other how much you have and say a prayer for
those in need.
Call Jerry or Jean Washko at 856-845-6944; they will pick
up the sandwiches and deliver them to one of several food
pantries in Camden. Thank you!
