    Introduction

    Congratulations on your purchase.

The Holographic Trading System is a unique and high-level market analyzertool that uses the latest scientific resources and was built by a group ofmathematicians and physicists to help traders and investors in their trading

decisions and analysis. The system itself is based on the ave Cycle Theoryand !ourier "nalysis and can be used on the !ore#$ C!%-s and preciousmetals market.

e took the time to write a very thorough &ser 'anual for the HolographicTrading System because we want everyone who uses it to be successful withthis system. (lease take the time to study and reference it while you arelearning the system. (lease remember$ you must follow the rules if you wantto be a successful trader with this system. e know the temptation will bethere to want to tweak the rules$ but please don)t. !ollow the plan as it)s laidout here and we are sure over time you)ll be happy with the results.

*vercoming your inability to trade the same plan every time you initiate atrade is what stands between you and becoming a successful trader.+emember$ the Holographic Trading System isn)t the ,Holy rail. Therewill be losses$ but if you follow the system rules$ the losses should besmaller and less often than the winners and you)ll grow your tradingaccount in the long run.

/ow$ please sit back and make your self comfortable to read and understandevery word contained therein and most importantly to do$ meaning to applywhat was learned in a disciplined and diligent manner.

    Scientific Background

&nderstanding a detailed scientific e#planation can be difficult for mostpeople. 0n this chapter we try to e#plain the scientific background of theHolographic Trading system in an easily understandable way.

!irst$ let1s understand where the name 1Holographic Trading system1 comes

from. " hologram is a three-dimensional photograph made with the aid of alaser. To make a hologram$ the ob2ect to be photographed is first bathed inthe light of a laser beam. Then a second laser beam is bounced off thereflected light of the first and the resulting interference pattern 3the areawhere the two laser beams commingle4 is captured on film. hen the film isdeveloped$ it looks like a meaningless swirl of light and dark lines. 5ut assoon as the developed film is illuminated by another laser beam$ a three-dimensional image of the original ob2ect appears. The three-dimensionalityof such images is not the only remarkable characteristic of holograms. 0f ahologram of a rose is cut in half and then illuminated by a laser$ each halfwill still be found to contain the entire image of the rose. 0ndeed$ even if the

halves are divided again$ each snippet of film will always be found tocontain a smaller but intact version of the original image. &nlike normalphotographs$ every part of a hologram contains all the informationpossessed by the whole. The 6whole in every part6 nature of a hologramprovides us with an entirely new way of understanding organization andorder. !ore# markets are e#actly the same. " main trend is built up byseveral medium-term and small-term trends. These smaller trends have thesame characteristic as the main long-term trend. 0dentifying the smallerwaves in a long-term trend can give us the opportunity the get into a tradewith less risk.

'ost of the phenomena we encounter in our daily lives occur in cycles. Thisis the case with seasons$ the rising and setting of the sun$ the ebb and flow$day and night$ the earth revolving around the sun$ etc. e take these forgranted and rarely think of them in terms of cycles. !urthermore$ we seldomassociate cycles with forecasting. Today$ we have accurate instruments topredict certain future events$ which range from weather storms to collisionsin space and the ne#t tsunami or earthquake.

  • 8/11/2019 Holographic System User Manual

    4/25

The underlying factor in this forecasting is a series of repeated cycles on thebasis of which we form our hypotheses. The same method is applied tomarket analysis. e can use market cycle theory to forecast the evolution offinancial markets$ i.e. we can predict when the low and high of a cycle willoccur.

7et us first understand the basic concept of a market cycle. 0magine a pricemoving up and down depicted on a chart in the form of a wave. The bottomof the wave is the low point and the top of the wave is the high point. 8achlow point is connected to a high point$ i.e. crest of the wave. The timebetween two low points or two high points can be regarded as a cycle.0magine this like the longest day of summer and the ne#t longest day ofsumer ne#t year in a cycle of seasons. !requently repeating cycles over aperiod of time are used to define a trend and trends are used as the basis forforecasting and therefore investment.

'arket cycles fall into different multiple groups$ i.e. short$ medium andlong-term cycles. 7ong-term cycles are most widely used to determine themarket1s high and low$ namely when to buy and sell.

Cyclic recurring processes observed in natural phenomena by humans sincethe earliest times have embedded the basic concepts used in modern spectralestimation. "ncient civilizations were able to design calendars and timemeasures from their observations of the periodicities in the length of the day$the length of the year$ the seasonal changes$ the phases of the moon$ and themotion of the planets and stars. (ythagoras developed a relationshipbetween the periodicity of musical notes produced by a fi#ed tension stringand a number representing the length of the string in the si#th century 5CHe believed that the essence of harmony was inherent in the numbers.(ythagoras e#tended the relationship to describe the harmonic motion ofheavenly bodies$ describing the motion as the 6music of the spheres6.

Sir 0saac /ewton provided the mathematical basis for modern spectralanalysis. 0n the seventeenth century$ he discovered that sunlight passingthrough a glass prism e#panded into a band of many colors. He determinedthat each color represented a particular wavelength of light and that thewhite light of the sun contained all wavelengths. He invented the wordspectrum as a scientific term to describe the band of light colors. e use avery similar technique to break the trend waves into pieces and analyzethem separately with our professional ave Scanner 0ndicator.

%aniel 5ournoulli developed the solution to the wave equation for thevibrating musical string in 9:;oseph !ourier e#tend the wave equation results by asserting thatany function could be represented as an infinite summation of sine andcosine terms. The mathematics of such representation has become known asharmonic analysis due to the harmonic relationship between the sine andcosine terms. !ourier transforms$ the frequency description of time domainevents 3and vice versa4 have been named in his honor.

/orbert iener provided the ma2or turning point for the theory of spectralanalysis in 9?;@$ when he published his classic paper 6eneralizedHarmonic "nalysis.6 "mong his contributions were precise statisticaldefinitions of autocorrelation and power spectral density for stationaryrandom processes. The use of !ourier transforms$ rather than the !ourierseries of traditional harmonic analysis$ enabled iener to define spectra interms of a continuum of frequencies rather than as discrete harmonicfrequencies.

    >ohn Tukey is the pioneer of modern empirical spectral analysis. 0n 9?A? heprovided the foundation for spectral estimation using correlation estimates

produced from finite time sequences. 'any of the terms of modern spectralestimation 3such as aliasing$ windowing$ prewhitening$ tapering$ smoothing$and decimation4 are attributed to Tukey. 0n 9?B he collaborated with >imCooley to describe an efficient algorithm for digital computation of the!ourier transform. This 3!!T4 unfortunately is not suitable for analysis ofmarket data.

The work of >ohn 5urg was the prime impetus for the current interest inhigh-resolution spectral estimation from limited time sequences. Hedescribed his high-resolution spectral estimate in terms of a ma#imumentropy formalism in his 9?: doctoral thesis and has been instrumental inthe development of modeling approaches to high-resolution spectral

estimation. 5urg1s approach was initially applied to the geophysicale#ploration for oil and gas through the analysis of seismic waves. Theapproach is also applicable for technical market analysis because it produceshigh-resolution spectral estimates using minimal data. This is importantbecause the short-term market cycles are always shifting. "nother benefit ofthe approach is that it is ma#imally responsive to the selected data lengthand is not sub2ect to distortions due to end effects at the ends of the datasample.

The dictionary definition of a cycle is that it is 6an interval or space of timein which is completed one round of events or phenomena that recurregularly and in the same sequence.6 0n the market$ we consider a classiccycle e#ists when the price starts low$ rises smoothly to a high over a lengthof time$ and then smoothly falls back to the original price over the samelength of time. The time required to complete the cycle is called the periodof the cycle or the cycle length.

Cycles certainly e#ist in the market. 'any times they are 2ustified on thebasis of fundamental considerations. The clearest is the seasonal change foragricultural prices 3lowest at harvest4$ or the decline of real estate prices inthe winter. Television analysts are always talking about the rate of inflationbeing 6seasonally ad2usted6 by the government. 5ut the seasonal is aspecific case of the cycle$ always being 9= months. *ther fundamentals-related cycles can originate from the 9< month cattle-breeding cycle or themonthly cold-storage report on pork bellies.

5usiness cycles are not as clear$ but they e#ist. 5usiness cycles vary withinterest rates. The government sets ob2ectives for economic growth based onits ability to hold inflation to reasonable levels. This growth is increased or

decreased by adding or withdrawing funds from the economy and bychanging the rate at which government lends money to banks. 8asing ofrates encourages businessD tightening of rates inhibits it. 0nevitably thisprocess alternates$ causing what we see as a business cycle. "lthough inpractice this cycle may repeat in the same number of years$ the e#actrepetition of the period is not necessary. The business cycle is limited on theupside by the amount of growth the government will allow 3usually ;E4 andon the downside by moderate negative growth 3about-9E4$ which indicatesa recession. The range of the cycle from F;E to -9E is called its amplitude.

Statisticians and economists have identified four important characteristics ofprice movement. "ll price forecasts and analyses deal with these elementsG

    9. " trend$ or tendency to move in one direction for a specified time period.=. " seasonal factor$ a pattern related to the calendar.;. " cycle 3other than seasonal4.A. *ther unaccountable price movement$ often called noise.

Since points = and ; are both cycles$ it is clear that cycles are a significantand accepted part of all price movement.

hen trading using cycles$ one key question is the desired time span of thetrade. "t one e#treme$ the A year ondratieff economic cycle could be

    7/25

considered. " cattle rancher might prefer the 9< month breeding cycle$ whilea grain farmer probably hedges on the basis of the annual harvest.Speculators often work over a short 3sometimes very short4 time span.

5ehavioral cycles in prices have been most popular in 8lliott1s wave theoryand more recently in the works of ann$ but these methods have a largeelement of interpretation and sub2ectivity.

" casual glance at almost any bar chart shows$ in retrospect$ that short term

cycles ebb and flow. The ability to isolate and use market phenomena$ suchas cycles$ is related to the awareness of its e#istence and the tools available.'any forecasting methods were not practical until the computer becamepopular. /ow these methods can be used by nearly everyone. Thephilosophical foundation for these short term cycles is derived from randomwalk theory and is developed so you will feel more comfortable dealingwith cycles.

"rguments that cycles e#ist in the market arise not only from fundamentalconsiderations or direct measurement but also on philosophical groundsrelated to physical phenomena. The natural response to any physicaldisturbance is harmonic motion. 0f you pluck a guitar string$ the string

vibrates with cycles you can hear. 5y analogy$ we have every right to e#pectthat the market will respond to disturbances with cyclic motion. Thechallenge for technical traders is to recognize when the cycles are presentand to trade them in a logical and consistent manner so these cycles cancontribute profitably to the bottom line. Cycle recognition should be 9@@Eob2ective and it should be based on mathematic calculations$ not onsub2ective human guessing. That1s why the Holographic Trading System is afantastic breakthrough in !ore# chart analysis.

The parts of the Holographic System

The indicators of the Holographic Trading System are the ne#t generationgroup of super indicators because they not only give you a multidimensionalview of market activity but each indicator is based on sound scientific

measurements rather than on anecdotal evidence and heuristics. Theindicators start with the measurement of the dominant cycle and aretherefore adaptive to changing market conditions. There are a total of fourindicators in the Holographic Trading system. These areG 94 ave Scanner(rofessional =4 Heat 'ap 0ndicator$ ;4 Holographic Supp+es$ and A4 Theatermark.

    1. Wave Scanner Professional

The ave Scanner (rofessional is a holographic spectrometer. *urmasterpiece indicator is the heart and soul of the Holographic TradingSystem. 0t is e#tremely easy to use this indicator as it breaks the main trend

into different colorful and spectacular waves. /ow let1s see how thisindicator works e#actlyG

8veryone loves a rainbow and most people understand$ at least roughly$ howthey workG raindrops split a beam of white sunlight into rays of coloredlight$ bending the blueish ones more than the reddish ones to make the well-known arc in the sky. +ain$ then$ is a brilliant method for separatingsunlight. Chemists and physicists use a similar method for separatingmi#tures of substances into their components$ turning them into beams ofparticles and then bending them with electricity and magnetism to make a

kind of spectrum of different atoms that are easier to identify. This techniqueis called mass spectrometry and it was pioneered by 5ritish physicist!rancis "ston in 9?9?. 7et1s take a closer look at how it worksI

'ass spectrometers are much simpler than they lookJor sound. Supposesomeone gives you a bucketful of atoms of different chemical elements andasks you what1s inside. Kou need to separate out the atoms quickly andefficiently$ but how do you do itL SimpleI Tip your bucket into a massspectrometer. 0t turns the atoms into ions 3electrically charged atoms witheither too few or too many electrons4. Then it separates the ions by passingthem first through an electric field$ then through a magnetic field$ so theyfan out into a spectrum. " computerized detector tallies the ions in differentparts of the spectrum and you can use this information to figure out whatkinds of atoms were originally in your bucket. That1s the basic idea$ anyway.0n reality$ it1s a bit more comple# than thisJthere1s no bucket$ for a startI

*ur ave Scanner (rofessional uses the same techniqueG it identifies a trendand with the built in spectrometric formula it separates the main trend intovisible waves. The trend is built up by these waves$ or sub-trends and it ise#tremely easy to find entry and e#it points after the wave separation. *f

course our tool is not based on ions or atoms$ but on mathematical formulas.5ut the conception is absolutely the same.

The mathematical formulas we use in this indicator are based on !ourier"nalysis. hat does !ourier analysis meanL /amed after the nineteenth-century !rench mathematician and physicist >oseph !ourier$ a type ofmathematical analysis that attempts to identify patterns or cycles in a timeseries data set which has already been normalized. 5y first removing anyeffects of trends or other complicating factors from the data set$ the effectsof periodic cycles or patterns can be identified more accurately$ leaving theanalyst with a good estimate of the direction that the data under analysis willtake in the future.

This type of analysis may sound comple#$ but it actually makes good sense.!or e#ample$ suppose a manufacturing company wanted to know what stageof its price cycle its main raw material was in. 5ecause inflation wouldconstantly be increasing the dollar price of the commodity over time$ ananalyst would remove the effects of inflation from the commodity1shistorical prices first. *nce inflation was controlled for$ the analyst wouldthen have a much more accurate picture of the price cycles e#perienced bythe commodity.

    2. Heat ap Indicator

The purpose of this indicator is to highlight the price zones that had the mostactivityG the hottest zones. The indicator shows a gradient of colors fromcold to hot. The hot colors mean lots of activity and volume$ the cold colorsmean less or minimal activity and volume. This indicator gives the trader adeeper look into the market activity and it is useful as a map or key to seethe current place of the price comparing to the whole picture.

The Heat 'ap indicator can be used to highlight the price zones that had themost activity. The hot colors mean lots of activity and volume$ the coldcolors mean less or minimal activity and volume. Hot colors also oftenindicate range. 0f the price is moving from the hot zone to the cold zone$ itmeans that the price is breaking out from it1s ,comfort zone. 0t can indicatethe beginning of a new trend$ but please keep in mind that support andresistance zones can behave more strongly in the cold zone.0f the price is moving from the cold zone to the hot zone$ it means that theprice is moving back to it1s ,comfort zone $ but it also often the sign of a

    Psychology and oney anagement

%on)t forget that the most important aspect of trading is not actually thestrategy$ entry or e#it rule but who is trading and how disciplined he is infollowing the set rules. Trading psychology is e#tremely important. eep inmind you need to have the discipline to apply your !ore# trading strategy ifyou don)t N then you don)t have one. Trading is all about maintaining rigid

discipline and this trait is e#tremely vital for success."lso we would like to suggest that do not put pressures on your trading withdaily goals like trying to make 9@@ pips everyday by forcefully trading. Thatis not how you do long-term survival business in !ore#. >ust wait for theright setup whenever it happens and take what the market can easily giveyou$ keep repeating this over and over again till success. Trading can beboring sometimes particularly when waiting for your trading conditions tobe met. 0mpatience leads to overtrading too.

+isk no more than you can afford to lose. *ne of the very common reasonswhy most traders fail is due to over leveraging their accounts. The rule of

thumb is to risk only =E of your account on any single trade. 8#ample$ youhave a U;@@@ dollar account you want to place a trade that ensures that ifyou were to lose your ma# loss will be =E of U;@@@ which is UB@. hichmeans the amount you are risking for that one trade is only UB@ dollars. Then on the upside make sure your risk reward is at least 9G= meaning forever9 you lose you gain = back in return. +egardless of the system start witha demo account and paper trade for at least two to three months to reallyunderstand how things work.
