From June 7th-24th, over 200 productions (and over one thousand performances) oftheatre, comedy, lm, dance, music, cabaret and a cornucopia of other offerings will be

presented at 69 performance spaces throughout central Hollywood.

ABOUT THE HOLLYWOOD FRINGEThe Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual celebration of the emerging arts. En-vironments for the Fringe include both traditional and unorthodox venues; fully

equipped theatres, street corners, clubs, bars, and places unexpected. Perfor-mances are self-produced by local, national, and international arts companies and

independent performers. In the spirit of most Fringes, participation is open and

uncensored.

In June 2011, over 200 groups participated and over 20,000 tickets were sold,

making the festival one of the largest of its kind in the United States. The event hasbeen called an artful feast by the LA Times, a roaring success by Backstage,

and a triumph by LA Weekly.

FRINGE VENUES

Fringe Central Box Ofce & Mainstage

(at Open Fist Theatre, 6209 Santa Monica Blvd)

The Fringe Central Box Ofce is a great place to start if youre not sure what to

do next. Consider this your one-stop shop for tickets, buttons, Fringe guides andother information. The Box Ofce will be open from 11am-Midnight throughout the

festival.

Fringe Central Station

(6314 Santa Monica Blvd.)

This years new and improved social space (eat your heart out, Fringe tent!) will

feature more shows, more networking, and more sangria! The Cabaret Stage onthe main oor and The Up Stage upstairs will feature hourly free programming,including previews of a variety of Fringe shows, comedy, music, cabaret and a

buffet of surprises!

Other Fringe-Run Venues

The Fringe BlackBox (at Theater of Note, 1517 N. Cahuenga Blvd.) will feature

a variety of intimate offerings, from one-person shows to mini-festivals, comedy,

drama, and a dose of magic. The Elephant Studio (at Elephant stages, 1076 Lil-

ian Way) will house the Fringe [Film] program. The Fringe organization has alsoented out a parking lot for discounted participant parking (across the street from

Fringe Central Box Ofce and Mainstage).

Hollywood Fringe AnnouncesNew Social Space: Fringe Central Station

Multi-Stage Space to Host Free Programming & the Fringe Bar

Hollywood, CA-- Hollywood Fringe (www.hollywoodfringe.org) organizers an-nounced details about Fringe 2012s social space today, which will be dubbed

Fringe Central Station for the duration of the festival (June 14th-24th). Last

years social space for the Fringe, the beloved Fringe Tent, was a popular destina-tion for all those participating in the eleven-day event. Fringe Central Station (6314

Santa Monica Blvd) will feature at least two stages--the Cabaret Stage on the

main oor and the Up Stage on the second-- and the legendary Bryans Bar, withits even-more-legendary sangria.

Fringe Central Station will be open from 2:00 PM-2:00 AM daily, except on Sun-days, when it will open at 11:00 AM for Fringe Family. The stages will feature

hourly free programming for the duration of the festival, including Fringe Familyprogramming, Fringe Cabaret (June 18th & 19th), open mics, workshops, show

excerpts, live-band karaoke, disco, stand-up comedy, music, encore performanc-

es, participant nights and more. During the festival, Fringers can see the full, up-

to-date schedule atwww.hollywoodfringe.org. The space will also host a FringeConcierge that can assist patrons with all things Fringe.

Bryans Bar serves not only as a place for Fringe-goers to unwind, but also as a

gathering place for those wishing to network, distribute yers, or hold a meeting.

Anyone with a Fringe Button will receive discounts on Fringe bar items (go here tolearn about all the benets of having a Fringe Button).

The Hollywood Fringes main box ofce will be hosted a block away at the FringeCentral Box Ofce & Mainstage (at Open Fist Theatre Company, 6209 Santa

Monica Blvd) and will be open starting June 4th. Fringe Box Ofces are the only

places you can buy tickets for every show in the festival, but venue-specic ticketswill also be available at the box ofces of over twenty theatres, bars, and galleries

participating in this years fest. Tickets for all Fringe productions are available nowat www.hollywoodfringe.org.

Hollywood Fringe Providing FreeProgramming for LA Schools

Student Fringe Will Feature Arts Education & Performance

Hollywood, CA-- Hollywood Fringe Festival organizers announced details about

Student Fringe today, an arts education program the Festival is launching this

year. For two days during the Fringe-- June 8th & June 15th-- the Fringe willbring local schools and students to Fringe venues for a full day of educational

and youth-friendly programming provided by Fringe artists and students. The

program has two goals, said Meghan McCauley, Outreach Director, to provide

an alternative arts education experience for local youth and to give Fringe artiststhe opportunity to give back to the community.

All Student Fringe programming is completely free for students and educators.

The Fringe is also supporting transportation costs, thanks in part to a partner-ship with Los Angeles Councilmember Eric Garcetti. Just over 200 students from

Bancroft Middle School (Hollywood), East LA Performing Arts Academy (East

Los Angels), Gabriella Charter School (Echo Park) and Southeast Middle School(Southgate) will attend. McCauley continued, Some of these kids have only

seen high-budget or classical theater. Some of them have seen very few live per-formances at all. We feel like every child should have the opportunity to experi-ence the arts; and beyond that, the inspiration and resources to create their own

opportunities.

Fringe groups include: Lost Moon Radio, Pam Noles Death 40 Feet Tall!,

Four Clowns, Joshua Silverstein (spoken word artist & educator), Stage Com-

bat with Peter Berube, and Poe and Mathews: A Misadventure in the Middle of

Nowhere. All participating Fringe artists were hand-picked due to their youth-friendly performances or their educational expertise. Many will provide interactiveworkshops or Q&A sessions. There will also be student performances by GCS

Company, a 28-member company of dancers from Gabriella Charter School in

Echo Park, and H20, the highly acclaimed show choir from Hollywood High.

The third annual Hollywood Fringe Festival will run June 14th to June 24th, but





programming will actually begin during Previews Week starting June 7th. Stu-dent Fringe will occur on the rst two Fridays: June 8th and June 15th. Perfor-

mances will take place at the Fringe Central Mainstage (at Open Fist Theatre,6209 Santa Monica Blvd.) on June 8th and at Actors Circle Theatre (7313 San-

ta Monica Blvd.) on June 15th, as a donation from Coeurage Theatre.

HFF Announces Fringe [Film] LineupDozens of Filmmakers to Present Work June 13-24

Hollywood, CA-- The Hollywood Fringe Festival announced today the full slate of feature

and short lms to be presented at this years Fringe [Film] event (see the full schedule

below). All Fringe [Film] screenings will be hosted at the Elephant Studio (1076 Lillian

Way) except for Opening Night on June 13th, when the days lms will be screened at the

Fringe Central Mainstage (at Open Fist Theatre, 6209 Santa Monica Blvd).

Fringe [Film]s curator, Ezra Buzzington, says: Like last year, young, talented lmmakers

have made my job easier by submitting great new works in various genres. Our shorts

section this year is jam-packed with disparate aesthetics and Im thrilled by what wevebeen afforded the opportunity to screen.

While many genres will be represented (horror, comedy, international drama, etc.) this

years features include several new documentaries covering a range of topics from long-

form improvisation (THE LAUGHING MATTER) to gay adoption (THE RIGHT TO LOVE

AN AMERICAN FAMILY). This years Centerpiece Feature, AFTER PORN ENDS, is adocumentary centered on the lives of those within the adult lm industry (AFTER PORN

ENDS).

A few celebrities will be making appearances at this years screenings as well. Mink Stole

is featured in the sci-/horror short BUGBABY (screened in Short Figments), directorKevin Smith has a great cameo in HUGHES THE FORCE (screened in Short Jocosities

and writer/comedian Fred Stollers feature lm FRED & VINNIE is sure to be a comedic h

of the 10-day event.

The second-year Fringe [Film] has doubled in size owing to last years exceptional suc-cess. Im really happy that lmmakers are included in the fringe festival scene now.

Buzzington adds. I suppose it was only a matter of time, but Im particularly proud that

the trend started with the Hollywood Fringe Festival. It makes sense.

Speaking directly to that more inclusive trend, Fringe [Film] will also be showcasing therst ever Fringe Film Tour. Various submitted national and international short lms will

be presented at various international fringe festivals, starting with the Hollywood Fringe.

An entire day has been given over to the Fringe Film tour. It will be an all day event. say
