Hollman Helps is committed to improving the lives and facilities of high school student athletes. We believe that that the facilities can impact a students wellbeing and a schools recruitment for coaching talent. Locker rooms are an area where student athletes typically spend most of their time outside of the classroom. This space is when we see students learn the importance of teamwork, build character and develop leadership skills; all lessons that extend beyond sports.

According to a 2014 report from the National Center for Education Statistics, 53 percent of public schools need to spend money on repairs, renovations, and modernizations to be in “good overall condition. Hollman Helps improving the overall condition of their facilities to continue creating an opportunity for student-athlete growth and development1.

In late 2018 Hollman Inc started Hollman High Education + Learning Program (Hollman Helps). In partnership with Community College, Hollman Inc is able to provide employees with the knowledge and skills to help employees advance in their careers and create a stronger workforce. All full-time employees and their eligible dependents can participate in the Hollman Helps program. Tuition at Dallas Community College and books are covered 100% by Hollman Inc.

In late 2019, Hollman expanded Hollman Helps and launched an annual Hollman Helps Locker Room Renovation program – Hollman Helps: High School Edition. The new program gives deserving schools across the nation the opportunity to submit videos advocating why they should be chosen for a free locker room rehabilitation. In 2020 Hollman selected 2 schools to renovate their men’s and women’s athletic locker room facilities. Hollman Inc continues to grow by accepting more schools into the program and is working to create an education design learning program for the chosen high school.

HOW WE SUPPORT SCHOOLS AND STUDENTSLOCKER ROOM RENOVATION To ensure a safe, healthy space for students, Hollman will be improving conditions for high school student athletes through a locker renovation. This renewed environment will revitalizing students school and community spirit.

CONTINUED EDUCATION The opportunity for an education past high school shouldn’t be a luxury. A LendEDU survey found that 55% of students struggled to find the money to pay for college and 51% dropped out of college because of financial issues2. We will be providing students with assistance in transitioning from high school to college with paid classes and books from the local community college.

MENTAL WELLNESS For high school athletes the stress of athletic competition, achieving high academic grades added to that of daily life can create a difficult environment to navigate. 6.3% of student athletes met the criteria for clinically significant depression while the low moods of 24% were considered “clinically relevant.”3 Hollman Helps is working to increase student awareness on mental wellness. We want to help remove the negative stigma surrounding mental health by educating students on mental wellness and management surrounding stress anxiety and depression.

LOW-INCOME SCHOOL DISTRICTS CANNOT DO IT ALONE

The lowest investment per student by the government was made in the poorest communities, while the highest investment per student was made in high income communities. Overall, the more affluent a community, the more funds were spent per student on school construction.4

Our goal is together with our partners we will be able to renovate locker rooms that will support the athletic programs, create positive mental well-being and be a central location to help develop team and leadership skills in high school students across the nation.
