• Cylinder brake - highly efficient, electro-pneumatic disc brake capable of stopping themachine within 3 seconds. In conjunction withdirect doffer drive, the brake providescomplete control during start and stop

sequences by maintaining sliver formation.Also improves level of safety.

The Hollingsworth Model 2000 Card having arigid subframe, is delivered fully assembledsignificantly reducing installation time.Enclosures are interlocked with the machinedrive for safety and are capable of beingremoved easily for servicing.Element stability, and close tolerancescombined with Hollingsworth high qualityclothing ensure the best possible cardingperformance.The card operator control panel, located on theright of the delivery end carries theshift/production data control unit, main controlbuttons and where applicable, controls for theMasterleveler autolevelling system. A graphicdisplay with mode and fault indication is alsocarried on the control panel. Fault detectionincludes; feed malfunction, metal detection,sliver breakage, material over doffer and, inconjunction with the data control unit, operationof the measured length function.Rigidly mounted on the card frame, the highlyefficient, rapid response pneumatic cylinder

CARD CLEANING SYSTEMThe total suction system for the Model 2000 Cardincorporates extraction from the following pointswithin the card:• Takerin / Rear blockshaft• Undercard• Coiler head• Doffer - web area• Flatstrip / Trashmaster• Drafting zone• Autoleveller• Cylinder / Doffer pressure relief

disc brake is interlocked with the machine .enclosures to give a high level of safety. Withbrake pads which can be replaced easily, the airreservoir in the feed line provides for braking inthe event of an air supply failure. The brake discis firmly secured to the cylinder weldment andhas a large surface area for rapid heatdissipation.

Note: Flatstrip may be collectedseparately.Contaminated air from each zoneis fed by ducts which merge at thedischarge point to a common linefeeding to the central filtrationplant. Direction of discharge maybe upward or downward to suiteither overhead or under floormain conveying ductwork.Under the card, a full widthconveyor transports fallen waste toa rear extraction mouthpiece,effectively ensuring a 'dead air'zone with no adverse effect oncarding performance.Rigid, smooth pipework and bendsare used from each point toprovide minimum air flowresistance and all ductwork and

suction hoods are specially formed to avoidsnagging points, from coated anti-corrosion steelsheet. A damper is incorporated in the dischargeduct to facilitate balancing of the system.Located on the left hand side of the card, allcleaning ductwork is designed to be dismantledeasily to provide unimpeded service access to allrelevant maintenance areas.The total suction air cleaning system operates on acontinuous extraction basis to achieve perfect cardcleanliness and ensure environmental dust levelsare controlled within all legislative standards.

One important aspect of any card specification is thecard clothing; from detailed research, Hollingsworthhave developed a wide range of wires for eachcarding element. From this extensive portfolio, themost suitable clothing can be selected to ensureoptimum carding performance.

Combined with the experience and resources of theHollingsworth group, individual carding features canbe selected to provide the most suitable parametersfor the fibre to be processed.
