Ingredients

3/4 cup shortening1/4 cup molasses1 cup sugar1 egg2 tsp. baking soda2 cups flour, sifted1/2 tsp. cloves1/2 tsp. ginger1 tsp. cinnamon1/2 tsp. salt

MOLASSES SUGAR COOKIES

Directions

Melt shortening over low heat. Cool. Add sugar, molasses and eggs; beat well. Sift flour, soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and salt. Add to first mixture. Mix well; chill. Form into 1-inch balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on greased cookie sheets, two inches apart. Bake at 375~ for 8-10 minutes.

HEARTY TURKEY N RICE SOUP

Directions

Dissolve bouillon in water. Add celery and carrot. Cover and simmer 20-25 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add remaining ingredients. Stir until cheese is melted. Yield: (5) 1 cup servings.

CHEDDAR AND JACK CHEESE BALL

Directions

In large bowl, beat margarine, sour cream and cream cheese at low speed until smooth (1-2 minutes). Stir in remaining ingredients. Shape into ball. Cover tightly with saran wrap or put in tightly covered container. Chill 6 hours or overnight until firm. Serve with crackers. Makes 4 cups.

2 eggs1 c. unsalted butter, melted8 oz. box cornbread mix15 oz. can whole kernel corn15 oz. can cream style corn1 c. sour cream1/4 tsp. nutmeg1 Tbsp. dark corn syrup

CORN PUDDING

Directions

Use part of the butter to coat the inside of a 3-quart casserole. Combine remaining butter with cornbread mix, drained whole kernel corn, cream style corn and sour cream. Mix thoroughly and put into buttered casserole. Spread corn syrup on top, then sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake 1 hour at 350~. Cool thoroughly at room temperature before serving.

SNICKERS CAKE

Directions

Mix cake mix according to directions. Pour 1/2 of the batter into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 350~ for 10-15 minutes. Melt caramels and butter and pour over the baked portion. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Pour the rest of the batter over the mixture. Bake 15 minutes. Serve topped with whipped creme.

Line a 9x13 pan with club crackers. Boil the graham crackers, brown sugar, milk and margarine for 5 minutes. Pour over crackers in pan. Add a layer of club crackers. Mix the chocolate chips and peanut butter together. Frost the last layer with the chocolate mixture.

SCRAMBLED EGG CASSEROLE

Directions

Blend flour into melted butter in saucepan. Cook for one minute, stirring frequently. Stir in milk gradually. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Stir in salt, pepper and cheese, cooking until cheese is melted. In a large skillet, brown sausage. Drain and rinse sausage. Return to skillet and add eggs. Cook over medium heat until eggs are set, stirring constantly. Stir in cheese sauce. Spoon into greased cake pan. Sprinkle with mixture of bread crumbs and melted butter. Chill, covered, overnight. Bake uncovered at 350~ for 30 minutes. Serves 6

Directions

Directions

Cake: Mix first 6 ingredients together and pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Crumble cake mix and pecans on top. Pour melted butter over it. Bake at 350~ for 50-60 minutes.

Frosting: Combine all ingredients, mix. Frost cake and sprinkle with more pecans.

VEGETABLE CASSEROLE

Directions

Melt margarine, mushroom soup and cheese together. Add rice and onion. Stir in the vegetables. Bake at 350~ for 30 minutes. Can be microwaved on high for 30 minutes. Add chicken, turkey or ham if desired.

8 - 10 potatoes1 1/2 lb. hamburger or 2 1/2 c. diced ham2 cans mushroom soup2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese1 lg. onion

CROCKPOT POTATOES

Directions

Peel and slice potatoes 1/8 inch thick. Put in bowl of water with 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar. Brown hamburger until no longer pink. Drain (or dice ham). Peel and slice onion into rings. Spray crockpot with non-stick spray. Alternate layers of drained potatoes, meat, cheese, and onion three times. Spread 2 cans mushroom soup over top of all in crock pot. Dont stir! Cover and cook on low 8-9 hours or on high 4-5 hours. Before serving, combine all ingredients by stirring with a slotted spoon. Serves 8

3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened1/2 c. sour cream1/4 c. butter or margarine, softened1 env. Ranch Salad dressing mix1 tsp. dried parsley flakes6 c. warmed mashed potatoes prepared without milk or butter

SLOW COOKER MASHED POTATOES

Directions

In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, butter and salad dressing. Mix and add parsley. Stir in potatoes. Transfer to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 2 to 4 hours. This recipe was made with fresh potatoes, not instant, in a slow cooker with heating elements surrounding the unit not only in the base. Delicious. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
