The basicsGoal- to stamp a piece of paper.Means- Rube Goldberg device uniquely

created by us. Ball is launched, hits Schleter, sends car down track, hits string. Trap is triggered, paper is stamped, trigger is sprung back up.

Parts- wood, rat trap, toy Mini Cooper, string, stamp, launcher.Cost- approx. $4.

Page 3: Hole In one!!!

The Work Involved...From the ball- projectile motion to conservation of momentum. From the car- gravitational potential

energy to kinetic energy into collision. From the string by car- collisionsFrom the mouse trap- spring potential

energy to kinetic energyFrom stamp- gravitationalpotential energy to kinetic energy

Page 4: Hole In one!!!

Any Issues?Keeping Mini Cooper stationary during

launchThe welding of stamp/pole to trapRight force to launch ball

Page 5: Hole In one!!!

Conclusions...Device works relatively well. We learned how to think more constructively

for even the simplest of tasks.WARNING: Don’t get your arm stamped by a

stamper powered by a rat trap.
