Project Description:FamilyFarmed.org is a non-profit organization committed to expanding the production,

marketing and distribution of locally grown and responsibly produced food, in order toenhance the social, economic, and environmental health of our communities. I was able todevelop the website for the Good Food Festival and Conference (GFFC) which brings togetherfarmers, distributors, suppliers, good food businesses, chefs, policy makers, funders andconcerned citizens to celebrate and improve the good food movement. During my time atFamilyFarmed I have archived and updated the website for this three day event. I have alsohelped plan separate events with the responsibility of promotion, creating and sendinginvitations, scheduling catering and more.

Learning Outcomes:~Develop and consistently update website content that is concise, informative and visuallyintriguing.

~Envision, design, promote, and develop the program for a small-medium sized event.

Legacy:The GFFC website will continue to be a valuable platform that provides information to +4,000attendees of the festival for years to come. The annual On the Table Event I am working on isthe second in its history therefore our participation for the second time it will impact how it isoperated in the future.

I am developing an event in which staff, board members, and stakeholders of theorganization’s Good Food Business Accelerator will come together and discuss how toimprove their investment in the Chicago good food movement.

Personal Takeaway:“The McCormick Internship has equipped me with PR job experiences as an eventcoordinator, and website public relations manager; a rare opportunity to leverage myqualifications as an environmental communications specialist.”
