Kinder Crafts: Back to SchoolSeptember 2, 2:30 - 4 p.m.Start the new school year off artfully with make it and take it back-to-school crafts at the Library. Ages 5-12 can come and get in touch with their inner artist!

Tandem SkydivingSeptember 4Experience freefalling for 54 seconds from 14,000 feet above Germany! We can also provide information for obtaining the United States Parachute Association (USPA) A license certification. Price: $279 (up to 197 lbs), $309 (198-220 lbs); weigh-in required for registration.

Texas Hold’Em TournamentSeptember 11, 6:45 p.m.Come out to the Zone and enjoy one of America’s favorite card games. Texas Hold’ Em is one of the most popular variants of poker and has fascinated players for many years. The widespread appeal of this game is owed in part to the simplicity and entertainment value inherent in it.

Painting with FriendsSeptember 11, 6:45 p.m.Come out to the Zone and paint your heart away all while laughing and joking! Each class we paint a “special” surprise painting that gets unveiled the day of. Sign up early as our class fills up quickly.

Hohenfels Mountain Bike RaceSeptember 12Join us for the championship finale of the IMCOM Racing Series, which has been running all Summer across Europe. Those riders who have accumulated the most points from their combined series races will be awarded prizes. Novices and newcomers are also invited, as this is a full range competition with kids, beginners and advanced course tracks mapped for the event. Local nationals are welcome with early registrations to allow time for inclusion on the access roster. Enjoy a day of racing, festive music, great food and rock-hopping fun!

Lego Builders ClubSeptember 16, 3-4 p.m.Do you like to build with Legos? Are you between the ages of 8 and 100? Join us on the 3rd Wednesday of each month to learn, challenge and create with Legos. Also, if you have any Legos to give away, please consider donating them to the Library for the use of this club. Contact the Hohenfels Library for more information.

Evening Wine TastingSeptember 18Spend the evening relaxing at the cozy Gut Löweneck Café located on the scenic Naab River. We enjoy sampling a diverse selection of German and Italian wines that will be paired with artisan breads. You can also explore their unique selection of iron worked pieces or shop the seasonal decorations in the attached store. Price: $39

Austria - White Water Rafting & KlettersteigSeptember 19-20Join us for a white water rafting and klettersteig adventure in the beautiful Tirol Region of Austria! Day one starts with a rafting experience on the Inns River. This river run guarantees fun for beginner and experienced rafters alike. Day two consists of a beautiful klettersteig climb up to the largest waterfall in Tirol and culminates on a suspended cable bridge above the roaring waterfall. Be prepared to get a little wet! Price: $259. Includes transportation, lodging, breakfast, rafting experience and safety equipment for klettersteig. Passport Required.

Comedy of ChampionsSeptember 22Get your belly laughs in during the Armed Forces Entertainment’s Comedy of Champions tour. This adult-themed comedy show is sure to keep you entertained. Come for an evening of laughs!

Oktoberfest TripSeptember 25Let us be the responsible one this year at Oktoberfest. We’ll arrive in Munich early, allowing you time to visit your favorite parts of the city before making your way into the world famous Oktoberfest grounds. Test your luck at finding an open table inside the tents, or test your guts on the heart pumping swings 100 feet in the air.

Country NightSeptember 25, 7-11 p.m.We’re sure to get you in the country spirit. Put on your best cowboy boots, hat and jeans and get on down at the Zone’s Country Night! Enjoy good music and cold drinks with your friends while line dancing the night away.

Budapest, Hungary Express TripSeptember 26-27Visit the “Paris of Eastern Europe”! This city is sure to excite with its extensive list of World Heritage sites including the Buda Castle, Andrassy Avenue and Heroes Square. Among other attractions include the Millennium Underground Railway (the second oldest in the world), wine tastings and cave tours in the Buda Hills. For spectacular views of the city, climb to the top of St. Stephen’s Basilica, the largest church structure in Hungary, or view the lit up Parliament from the west side of the Danube after sunset! Passport Required. Price $149 per adult, $75 per child under 12.

Banned Book WeekSeptember 27-October 3There is little more sacred than our right to read, so come get educated in the continuing struggle to defend that freedom. We will have a static display of current and past banned books, as well as a super secret contest! Let everyone know that you’re with the banned!

Eclectic Book ClubSeptember 29, 5-6 p.m.Now that the kids are back in school, you have more time to read, right? Join our Eclectic Book club as we embark on epic journeys through books, with the added deliciousness of talking about them afterwards! Call the Library for more information.

Kinder Crafts: FallSeptember 30, 2:30-4 p.m.As the leaves begin to change and the air gets cooler, it’s time to get crafty at the Library! Fall crafts galore will be on hand, so put on your artist hat and come on over! This program is for ages 3-10.
