Meaningful use is not possible without HL7

The Office of the National Coordinator for HIT in the US Department of Health and Human Services has selected the following HL7 standards to support meaningful use-stage 1:

• HL7 Version 2.5.1 Submission of Lab Results to Public Health Agencies

• HL7 CDA/CCD for Patient Summary Record• HL7 Version 2.3.1. or Version 2.5.1 for Submission to

Public Health Agencies for Surveillance or Reporting and Submission to Immunization Registries
