Hi,We are in Memphis tonight after spending the after-noon at Elvis' home, called Graceland, which was quitelovely. It's a big operation in the area with museumsand memorabilia and photos of him and his friends andfamily all in buildings like a mall...even got to see hisairplane and his smaller jet...and all of his car collection! What a place! Nice folks work there and it was wellworth the time and price. On to Branson, MO tomor-row. It will take about 5 hrs. drive time to get there. We'll be there several days and see some shows and thearea before moving on.

A note sent to George Wink...I sent a large file to you yesterday via Securely Send. It's acompilation of the photos you wanted scanned from the1970 Yearbook you so graciously sent me. Let me knowif that's what you wanted. I've used the yearbook several

    times already.Thanks again Bob

Bob,I received the file you sent me on Friday. The pages areperfect. Thank you for taking the time to scan and cropthem. I am glad I was able to make a small contributionto your yearbook collection and your ability to put aface (albeit from years ago) to a name.Kind regards,George

Dear Hicksville High School Alumni & FriendsWe can go to the Memorials at the Junior High School and see plaques that contain the names of those whoserved in the military during World War I, World War II and the Korean War. There is, also, a mini area that isdedicated to Southeast Asia. Many of the names on those plaques echo the names of future family members whoserved subsequent to their Moms or Dads, Aunts and Uncles and cousins. Many of us participated in a not toopopular war, Vietnam. Those who served never had the "welcome home" feeling experienced by the veterans of

other conflicts. The completion of a new "memorial wall" to honor all who served in Vietnam and at other military theatersworldwide during the Vietnam era just might provide the much needed closure. How many of you were drafted into the army and went to Vietnam without your blessing? LOL You couldn't sayno because of respect and love for the United States, the greatest nation in the world. You went without reserva-tion and served admirably.Remember the goal...to memorialize those who participated in the Vietnam Era by constructing a Memorial atthe "Hicksville Veterans Memorial Park" located at the former Jerusalem Avenue Junior High School, nowHicksville Middle School, that will bear the names of those who served. The following video is designed toacquaint the Hicksville Community with the memorials that are already there. Highlighted are some formerstudents who deserve recognition. The only thing missing...funds required to complete the project. Everything

else is in queue and ready to go. Please help convert the goal to reality.

Hicksville High School Military Alumni Video:https://youtu.be/v_26pgnSICM

Please send a contribution to the committee and don't think that only large donations will result in the culmina-tion of the memorial construction. A couple of bucks ($1 - $2 - $3) from many will help the committee realize thegoal that they have worked so hard to see realized. Please send your personal contribution that will help thisdream come true. Many thanks to those who have already responded!

Bob,Off to a good start! Thisshould definitely help the fundraising effort. I have GeneHuber listed as Class of '64, sodon't know why he thoughthe saw '65 (?).Have a good weekend!

    Joe Carfora

A note to Bill Walden from Joe...

Please send me your fund raising spreadsheet for the endof May. I never received it, even though you said you sentit. Welcome home and hope you had a good time inPensacola.

JoeHad great time in Pensacola.Received "Lifetime Achieve-ment" Award from the organi-

zation. Was a great honor.Attached is the latest numbersincluding a donation Ireceived yesterday. Alsoattached are the forms weused to re-register back in2009. I just downloaded themfrom the NY State Attorney

General Charities Bureau. Take a look at them. If youwant, I can fill in as much information I know and thenmail them to you for completion and your signature.Let me know.

FYI - Last night I attended the Hicksville High School'sfund raiser for the Wounded Warrior Project. Theyraised $10,000 in one night. I sat with/spoke withSuperintendent Bonuso and High School PrincipalWilliams. Laid more ground work for our memorialwith both of them. Spoke with Principal Williams forover an hour, after the event was over about theHixNews website, the aemorial, and the video done byBob. If possible, once video is tweaked, if I could get a

hard copy that would be excellent.Testing is underway at schools right now so I think ourwindow has closed until fall, but I will keep a highprofile with them over summer. Will keep everyoneupdated.Semper FiBill

Hi Bill!Congratulations on receiving the Lifetime Achievement

Award from the VFW! That's a tremendous honor and I'msure your family is very proud of you and your Dad wouldbe popping buttons if he were still here. And here Ithought you were in Pensacola just for vacation. We should talk before going any further on filing for taxexempt approval from NY State. I'll give you a call soon onthis. Thanks too for the latest spreadsheet. Fred Fischerlives near me and I saw him the other day and he told mehe had sent in a donation.I'm intrigued by HHS' fundraiser for the WW Project andwill discuss further with you on the phone also.Best regards,

    Joe

Congrats Bill. A Lifetime Achievement Award is quite anhonor especially when presented by a great organiza-tion. I made the change when I saw your note and amnow recording the video again to be put up on You

Tube. Then I can send a note to the Google Group andwe go from there. Hope this helps generate somefunds. I will snail mail a copy on DVD tomorrow. Let'skeep our fingers crossed that we can get closer to ourgoal.buffalo bob

Thanks for all your help, Bob! We will look forward tothe Google Group distribution and let you know howmuch it helps an increase in donations. Currently, through 6/3/15, Bill Walden reports a total of $5,855.85.

The odd amount came from a collection of nearly $850from the Hicksville Veterans Memorial Committee.

Dear Bob:What a heartfelt (and heart-breaking) tribute to our class-mates who gave their lives for allof us. I was crying all the waythrough this wonderful andinspiring video. God bless andkeep them in His care. Bob, youare a good person to have putthis together. Thank you so

much for reminding us what wehave because of these brave people.Linda Faraone Connelly 1960

Hi Bob!I was away this past week, so

just now looked at the Memo-rial Day presentation. Welldone, as it truly honors our

    many Veterans!!All the best,

    Joe Carfora 1962

It was a very touching andadmirable tribute, but you havthe wrong picture for mybrother - Carl Kozma,in thevideo. I really did not gothrough the rest of the page soam not sure if all of the informtion listed for him is accurate. was heartbreaking not to seethis misinformation - especially

on U-Tube - the information is already out there and iwrong. But thanks anyway for the site.Margaret Kozma Ryan 1967

Margaret,My bad... So sorry for the screw up. I had your brother'spictures; high school graduation and one in uniform and

wound up addingBill Kozma's photo ierror. I was probablybeing overly cautiounot wanting to makany mistakes forsomething that isspecial to me, honoing our fallen heroeand I screwed it upbig time. I cannot

change that video. I can post a new one after makingchanges but that won't change what now appears. Youare the first one to catch the error and this video has beeviewed almost 1,000 times. Sorry.love yah... buffalo bob casale

    Bob

I understand that we are all human and mistakes aremade. You do a great job on this website and I don'twant to make waves. It was a shock when I wentthrough the video and saw someone else's picture. Ionly wish that his picture didn't have to be there in thfirst place - it still hurts! But thanks for the correctionand keep up the great work.Margaretp.s. Just as an added note - no one has ever made men-tion that my brother was a "Screaming Eagle" - a membof the 101st Airborne and very proud of it. In fact he wscheduled to be transferred there. If he wasn't killed he

would have transferred the following week.

Very sad news and my class

    was terminal a couple

    months ago and she seemed

    to have everything in

    perspective. She said her

goal was to keep Tom comfortable and happy with the

time he had left with his family around him. I'll also call
