Abstract

Today’s world is the world of Science and Technology. It is the today’s requirement in every field for quick movement. My project ** MEDICAL BILL SYSTEM** is just been a little contribution to this developing world of science and technology. My project is basically about the complete management of bill system. The project is mentioned by following references from which we get more information about whole bills and customer details in a few minutes.

The knowledge of V.B. NET is not completed until the project work has been completed successfully. Thinking this point in mind, I had taken this project in Hindustan Zinc. At present the company is provided complete medical facility to the Employees. To maintain what record the medical bill system has been prepared. This project has capability to add any information about any new employee & entry about any bill that has been cleared out by any employee. This first form is launched for the starting of project & providing information about for whom it is programmed & by whom it is it is developed. Second form is for the entry of username & Password, which is fixed for the project to secure it from any external source.

The user can change them by permission of the developer. It is a login form. At last when all the records had been filling up than the project should print the report of what processing it performed. The data environment has been used for this purpose. It is employed for the purpose designing reports one report for bill information & one for general information of employee. The working of each form is described after each form.

ABOUT THE PLANT

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF HINDUSTAN ZINC LIMITED, DEBARI

Zinc smelter Debari, is a unit of HZL. It was started in 1968.it was the first Zinc smelter of HZL. In this plant zinc, along with its products viz. Silver, Cadmium, Sulphuric acid etc. are produced from Zawar Mines and other mines of the company. Initially this Smelter started with 18,000 tonnes per annum capacity, but at present the capacity of plant is 49,000 tonnes per annum the recovery of Zinc in this plant is 94.52%.Departments as under:-

• Roaster and Acid plant• Leaching plant• Zinc Electrolysis plant• Zinc Dust plant• Instrumentation plant• Finance Department• Project Department

Performance:-

Zinc Smelter Debari, has achieved an impressive growth pattern and condition and endeavors are being made to improve the production, as productivity. Emphasis is given for energy conservation, improvement in recovery efficiency and reduction in process chemical consumption which is prime factor in controlling the cost of production.

In order to sustain above achievement, TQM and workman participation through suggestion scheme are in Zinc smelter Debari, now is a 9002 certified unit for quality management system from 05-11-1998.

Page 7: Hitesh1

Roaster & Acid Plant

Roaster plant:-

At Debari, Zinc Smelter two roasters are used for roasting i.e. Roaster1 & Roaster2. Roasters are mainly furnaces which are maintained at 9500C. These furnaces are fluidized type in which fluidized bed is made and air is passed from bottom for oxidation. The furnaces are autogenously, so only to start the reaction or to obtain required temperature of fuel is required.

Gases coming out of hot gas precipitator have 7-8% SO2 & at 3300C. In this section SO2 Gas at temp 3300C is passed through scrubbing tower, which has sedimentation tank & SO2 stripper & wet gases precipitator is obtained at temp 550C. SO2 gas has moisture. This SO2 gas is first dried in a drying tower with H2SO4

to remove the moisture content.

Leaching Plant

Leaching is the selective dissolution of ore material oxide in acid, alkalis or solutions of other reagents. According to the conditions adjusted in manner to leave maximum gangue in the insoluble residue.Calcite comes into the hopper from the roaster from the bucket elevators. From the hopper the calcite is coming to a redder conveyor through a rotatory value. By adjusting the speed of the rotatory value calcine directly into puchuua. The calcine if expand in stored in sizes.

Total calcite storage capacity in the leaching plant:-Total Capacity 3930 MtsOld Silo [Nos.1, 2, 3] 680 Mts eachNew Silo [Nos.4, 5, 6] 680 Mts each

Zinc Electrolysis Plant

Electrolysis of Zinc Sulphate solution take place in electrolysis cells with Alluminium cathode & lead anode as electrodes. The reaction can be represented as:-

ZnSO4 + H2O Zn + H2SO4+1/2 H2O

Page 9: Hitesh1

Zinc ions migrate towards the cathode & get deposited in the form of sheet whereas oxygen is given off at anode. As sulphate ions have great affinity for Hydrogen ions this result in formation of sulphuric acid.It consists of 560Nos of concentrate in three circuits of 240, 160, and 160. Each lead anode containing 0.5% silver Alluminium cathode is used. Stripping of zinc sheet is a manual operation.Electrolysis carried out at a current density of 315amp/m2 in first and 410 amp/m2

in second and third circuit.

Zinc Dust Plant

Zinc dust is produced in the Zinc dust plant. Zinc dust is produced & then used in Leaching & purification plant. In the production of Zn dust following type’s steps is followed.

First of all Zinc maggots are melted in an oil furnace, from which melted Zinc is taken into Electro Furnace to vapourise the Zinc. For this purpose coke is used between two graphite electrodes. This Vapour is allowed to pass through a condenser or where it is cooled by Nitrogen Gas. After cooling the Vapour is changed in the form of dust Known as “ZINC DUST”.

INSTRUMENTATION DEPARTMENT

Different instruments used in the plant are:-1. Line Measuring instruments :

a) Differential pressure transmitterb) Bip Tubec) Ultra sonic

Introduction of Ms - Access

Ms - Access is a relational database system (RDBMS) used to store & manipulate large collection of information of any kind. Here RDBMS refers to the organization of data in a series of row & columns. Ms-Access has tools, which are easy to use & provide powerful development- environment. For example, Access can be used to enter & maintain Customers

Records, room allotted, telephone numbers, once the records are stored, any type of query can be asked, report can be created & data enter form can be designed. At advance label, Access can be used for developing custom database applications by employing access basic.

H/W& S/W required for Access:Access is a window-based package so windows should be installed on a target computer. A computer may have 80386, 80486 or Pentium based processor with minimum 8 MB of RAM- VGA graphic display adapter & a mouse.

Components of Access

1. Database windowDatabase window help all objects of a database are stored in a single file having extension, .MDB the objects are managed through the database window.

2. Database & Table Database is a collection of inform retained in the form of table. Table consists of row & columns. Each table stores information of bank .One entity such as student, customer, patient each row in the table represents single record of the entity. Each column contains a discrete element of information, called G field.

3. Forms Forms display the data from a table in the format requested by user. The records or fields are placed in the forms & can be edited according to the requirement.

Page 16: Hitesh1

4. Queries A query is a question, asked by the user to extract information according to his requirement.

5. Reports Report is the wide form of query. A report displays the information in a prescribed format.

6. Macros Macros are the shortcut keys, which are used to frequently perform the task.

Relational Database

ADO:

The ADO data control is similar to the data control and the remote data control. The ADO data control is designed to create a connection to a database using Microsoft ActiveX data objects (ADO). At design time you create a connection by setting the connection string property to a valid connection string, and then set the record source property to a statement appropriate to the database manager.

At runtime, you can set the provider, connection string and record source properties to change the database. We will use the controls like the data control, the remote data control, and the ADO data control with bound control.

VISUAL BASIC

This Project is developed on Visual Platform using the database technology at its core. As the Visual Images and The graphics provides more appealing effect to the eyes on the user then the other conventional format, so as to make the project more effective and to make the project to able to store the information about various entities involved. The project incorporates the use of tools like:-

VISUAL BASIC –Front End MS-ACCESS - Back End

The Front-End is software, which manages the logical representation of data while back-end manages to manipulate & store data.

VISUAL BASIC Visual Basic is a graphical rapid application development (RAD) tool that aims at providing the user with a graphical interface that is intuitive and easy to use. Visual Basic is a popular programming tool that can be used to write any kind of Visual Applications ranging from a game to a data base management application. Now-a-days Visual Basic is being widely used for developing different types of applications and performing various types of jobs With Visual Basic.

One can automate everyday tasks, add custom required features and functions to suit ones need, and create applications which make ones task easier.

A Visual Basic Programming environment provides all features that are required to develop a Graphical User Interface (GUI) as ready to use components. The Visual Basic Programming environment is also called Point and Click Environment. The Programmer does have to write the code to create and display commonly required user-friendly features each time around. When the programmer needs a specific user interface feature such as a button, he selects the appropriate ready to use component provided by the Visual Programming environment. These components can be moved, resized and renamed as required. So a Visual Programming environment automates the process of creating the user interface by designing Visual interface using the ready to use components. In

Page 18: Hitesh1

Addition, it also provides the means of associating the user written logically defined code with the component used in a project.

Advantages of Visual Basic Ready to use components

A Visual Basic Programming environment provides all features that are required to develop a graphical user interface as ready to use components. The Visual Basic Programming environment is also called Point and Click environment. The programmer does not have to write the code to create and display commonly required user- friendly features each time around. When the programmer needs a specific user interface feature such as a button, he selects the appropriate ready to use component provided by the Visual Programming environment. These components can be moved, resized and renamed as required.

Build in code

The interface components provided by the Visual Programming environment have some code built into then for them. For e.g., a button ‘knows’ when it has been clicked upon and then when the event occurs, it executes the appropriate code.

Disadvantages of Visual Basic

Required More MemoryThe entire process of developing an application using a Visual Development is visual. So the environment is highly graphical in nature and thus requires more memory.

Higher Configuration Visual Development environment requires computers of higher configurations in comparison of conventional programming tools like:-

1. Larger Capacity Hard Disk2. More RAM3. Faster Processor

Page 19: Hitesh1

Why I Have Used ‘VISUAL BASIC’? In addition to advantages of the Visual Basic mentioned above, there are certain regions to use the Visual Basic in Development of this application:-

The Visual Basic is technology committed to improved itself continually and grows along with the changes and the improvements in the operating systems used.

Visual Basic enables rapid prototyping as it has various in-built tools, making programming with Visual Basic easy.

The Developers can create interactive application and web-based applications with ease.

]TERMINOLOGIES INVOLVED

Forms:-

Visual Basic 6.0 supports multiple document interface formsas well as whole number of predefined forms.

Form layout window:-

Using the window you can position forms as you want them to appear on the screen when they are first displayed. To give a form a new initial location just drag that form in the form window layout to that new location.

Page 20: Hitesh1

Form designers and code window:-

The form designers are just the form window in which the particular form appears & corresponding control tools in the toolbox.

Properties of Forms and text:-

Back color:-We can also set the buttons or text back color property again both at run time as well as design time setting its value using RGB()function, which takes three parameters(0 – 255) for the red, green & blue color value you want to set. Here we change the color of the graphical button to red color.

Fonts:-There are number of options in the font dialog box. Instead you can see the following properties.

1. font bold

2. font italic

3. font name

4. font size

5. font strikethrough

6. font underline

Page 21: Hitesh1

MODULES

Modules are the collection of code and data that function something like in Object oriented programming but without defining OOP characteristics like inheritance, polymorphism and so on. The point behind module is to enclose procedures and data in a way that hides them from the view of the program.

When we cover the Visual Basic programming techniques and style breaking a large program into smaller, self contained module can be invaluable for creating and maintaining code.

You can think of well designed modules conceptually as programming objects. Besides modules Visual Basic also supports class modules. Programming with class modules will bring us more closely to the OOP programming.

PROCEDURE

As with variables you can restrict the scope of procedures, you can do that with the private, public, friend and static keywords. The private and public keywords are the main keywords here. Using them you can specify a subroutine or a function is private to a module or form in which it is declared or public to all forms and modules before the sub or function keyword.

You can also declare procedures as friend or static keyword. These restrict those functions from being called in the current project serves as an OLE automation server where we support a counter variable that is incremented each time when a function is called.

Page 22: Hitesh1

FUNCTIONS

We call a function procedure using the function name, followed by the argument list in the parenthesis. You return a value from the function by assigning the value you want to return to the function name. Finally END function ends the procedure. Now the problem here is that the counter variable, int count value in the counter ( ) function is reinitialized each time in the counter ( ) function. Besides declaring variables using static, we can also use it as a keyword when declaring a function or subroutines.

1. OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS

This stage specifies the problem definition that is it identifies the specific problem to be solved.

2. REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS

The requirement gathering process is intensified &focused specifically on software .To understand the nature of the program to be built, we

must understand the information domain for the software ,as well as the required function , behaviour ,performance and interface Requirements for both the system & the software are documented and reviewed with the customer.

3. DISCUSSION WITH PROJECT GUIDE AND PROJECT HEAD

As this is the very first time I am preparing any project, so I have made my project under the guidance of our project incharge & faculty computer science.

4. ANALYSIS OF INFORMATION

In this stage models of the system is created in an effort to better understand data & control flow ,functional processing ,operational behaviour & information content .The model serves as a foundation for software design.

Page 25: Hitesh1

5. COMPARING WITH AN EXISTING SYSTEM

The system model which is analysed is compared with real life or existing system so that if there is any thing which is not present in our system model is provided in it.

6. DESIGNING MBS

Software design is an iterative process through which requirements are translated into a “blueprint” for constructing the software .Software design is actually a multistep process that focuses on four distinct attributes of a program data structure, software architecture, interfaces representation & procedural (algorithmic) details.

7. CODING MBS

The design must be translated into a machine readable form. The code generation step performs this task & we provide the actual code delivered to the customer as a running system.

8. REVIEWING AND TESTING MBS

Once code has been generated, program testing begins. The testing process focus on the logic of the software , ensuring that all statements have been tested and on the functional externals ,that is ,conducting test to uncover errors and ensure that define input will produce actual result that agree with required result.

Page 26: Hitesh1

9. SUBMISSION OF PROJECT REPORT

Once system is tested, project report is made and submitted to project incharge.

The project

Page 28: Hitesh1

The form showed above is used for the security purposes. As the

project build is only for the company purpose or it may have a

single person application than the information either entering or

retrieving must be carefully handled. If unauthorized person

would also make use of it than there may be some disadvantages

so for solving this problem the username and password is applied

so that the security of project persist there and only authorized

person can update the records as per rules of the company.
