    7. PRECAUTIONS IN SALES PROMOTION

In the interest of promoting the safest and most efficient use of the Models SB 10S2 and SB 10V2 Belt Sanders

by all of our customers, it is very important that at the time of sale the salesperson carefully ensures that the buyer

seriously recognizes the importance of the contents of the Handling Instructions, and fully understands the

meaning of the precautions listed on the caution plate attached to each tool.

    7-1. Handling Instructions

Although every effort is made in each step of design, manufacture and inspection to provide protection against

safety hazards, the dangers inherent in the use of any electric tool cannot be completely eliminated. Accordingly,

general precautions and suggestions for the use of the belt sander are listed in the Handling Instructions to

enhance the safe, efficient use of the tool by the customer. Salespersons must be thoroughly familiar with the

contents of the Handling Instructions to be able to offer appropriate guidance to the customer during sales

    promotion.

    7-2. Precautions on Caution Plate

Each of the Models SB 10S2 and SB 10V2 is provided with a caution plate which lists basic safety precautions in

its use (illustrated below). Carefully ensure that the customer fully understands and follows these precautions

    before using the tool.

    (1) For the U.S.A. and Canada

    (2) For Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Israel

    (3) For Taiwan

    (4) For China

    8. DUST COLLECTION

    8-1. Dust Collector

This is a system in which the housing is provided with a dust fan on its side so that air pressure from the dust fan

causes grinding dust to be drawn in from the inlet and collected in a dust bag.

8-2. To Maintain Dust Collecting Performance

When moist dust is drawn in, the dust collecting section becomes clogged and impairs dust-collecting

performance. Instruct the customer to operate the equipment in a dry location as much as possible.

A clogged dust bag impairs dust-collecting performance. Instruct the customer to frequently clean the dust

    bag.

Overflow of dust in the dust bag impairs dust-collecting performance. Instruct the customer to empty the dust

bag when dust has been collected to about 70 % of bag capacity.

    8-3. Others

Should sparks created from sanding smolder in the dust bag after sanding a steel plate etc., there is a risk of

burning. Instruct the customer to always remove sanding dust from the dust bag.

    9. PRECAUTIONS IN DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY

Precautions on operation are given in the instruction manual; the following are special precautions on

    disassembly, reassembly and repair.

When tightening a tapping screw, align the holes on both sides.

The [Bold] numbers in the descriptions below correspond to the item numbers in the Parts List and the exploded

assembly diagram for the Model SB 10S2, and the numbers to those in the Parts List and the exploded

assembly diagram for the Model SB 10V2.

The disassembly and reassembly procedures described are common to the Models SB 10S2 and SB 10V2.

CAUTION: Be sure that the plug is disconnected from the power source during disassembly, reassembly

    and sanding belt replacement.
