Ten Plagues of Egypt

1. Water to Blood: EXODUS7:19 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.

2. Frogs8:2 And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs: 8:3 And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneading troughs: 8:4 And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants.

3. Gnats8:16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

4. Flies8:21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.

5. Livestock Diseased9:3 Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.

Ten Plagues of Egypt

6. Boils9:8 And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh. 9:9 And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.

7. Thunder and Hail9:18 Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.

8. Locusts10:4 Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:

10:5 And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field.

9. Darkness10:21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. 10:22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days

10. Death of the Firstborn11:4 And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt: 11:5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.

God told Pharaoh that he would kill the firstborn son in each Egyptian family. The Pharaoh did not

believe that God would do it. But he did.

Finally, the Pharaoh agreed to set the

Israelites free.

Page 54: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt.During the daytime, God led the way as

a pillar of cloud.

During the night time, God led the way as a pillar of fire.

Page 55: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

God led the Israelites to the Red Sea but the Pharaoh, and his army, were chasing them and

they did not know what to do.

Page 56: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

God’s cloud came down to protect the Israelites. Pharaoh’s army could not see where they were!

Page 57: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

Then God told Moses to raise his staff. As Moses did so, God made a path through the Red Sea.

Moses and the Israelites followed the path to the other side but the army were close behind.

Page 58: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

Moses raised his staff a second time. As Moses did so, the path through the Red Sea closed and

swept away the Pharaoh and his army.

At last, the Israelites were free and safe.

Page 59: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

The Lord then ordered Moses to send some men to explore the promised land

There were 12 men that Moses was sending into the promised land (one from each tribe) to see if it was fitting for them to live.

Page 62: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

After a long journey, they finally reached the land and found it to be rich and fertile.

After spending forty days in the land, they brought back with them grapes, figs and pomegranates to give to the Israelites

Page 63: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey and this is its fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large….

(Numbers13:27-28)

Page 64: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

10 of the men that Moses sent said that the people of the promised land were giants and there was no way that they could fight them and win!!

However, the other two men did not agree. They knew that with the Lord’s help they could win any battle!

Page 65: HISTORY OF ISRAEL
Page 66: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

Joshua and Caleb were the only two that trusted in God and His power…

And because of this God promised them that they would be the only 2 from these men that will get to see the promised land!

Page 67: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

But the other Israelites did not agree with Caleb and Joshua. The people had lost faith in God. Because of this, God told Moses that the Israelites could not enter the promised land.

The Israelites had to wander in the desert for forty years. When they eventually entered the promised land Moses had died and Joshua was their new leader.

Page 68: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

The war begun and just like the Lord promised, His people won and gained victory over the giants of the promised land.

The ten men that did not trust in God’s promise died in battle

Since Joshua and Caleb had faith in God, they were able to go to the promised land along with the rest of the Israelites.

Questions Whom did God use to lead His people out of

Egypt? What was the name of the promised land? How many men did Moses send to check out

the land? How many of the men gave a good report

about the promised land? What were their names? Why did God reward them and not the others?

Page 70: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

Questions

What was one thing that you learned from this lesson?

What do you think God was trying to teach the Israelites?

Page 71: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

Conclusion The person that truly trusts the Lord and

relies on Him for everything that he/she does will be successful and have victory in everything in his/her life

The second any of us start doubting God, we

will see that we will gain nothing in life except for hardships

QUESTION:

"WHY WAS MOSES NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER THE PROMISED LAND?"

Page 74: HISTORY OF ISRAEL

ANSWER:InNumbers 20:8, the Lord told Moses, "Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.”

Numbers 20:9-11records Moses' response: "So Moses took the staff from the LORD's presence, just as He commanded him. He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, ‘Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?’ Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank."

(Numbers 20:12). The Lord was displeased with Moses’ actions: “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them”
