EVENING HIGH SCHOOL OF AIGALEO

A 3 hour workshop held in our school

on November 17th, 2016

regarding the use of historic photographs,

as well as other visual materials,in the study of European History

Photographs are important windows into the past and they can be

appreciated both for their aesthetic attributes

and for the incredible amount of data that they may contain.

When used with other artifacts and texts, photographs can provide a balanced look at our history that the written,

printed or spoken word alone cannot provide.

Our history teachers, Mrs. Pefani Tina and Mrs. Giasouridou Stella, presented the use of visual materials as historical

sources

followed by a presentation titled “A picture is worth a thousand words"

where ten students, of the Erasmus + team,presented moments of the Greek

and the European history through more or less famous photographs of their

choice
