It was Sunday evening and Paul, who was new in the city, had met a very nice woman in a restaurant’s toilets the previous day. As the conversation was going on, she told him about a new Indian restaurant she had been to with some friends.

So, they had arranged a date for this Sunday evening and after an awkward moment at the beginning, they seemed to be getting quite well.

“Do you want to eat fish or meat?” - Paul asked her before the waitress arrived.

She was looking at the window, just a few metres to their right when she realised that he was staring at her. He asked again: “would you like a fish?”.

She misunderstood the questions: “I like animals but I can’t decide one”. “How did you know that I was thinking in adopting a pet?”

Once he heard this he couldn’t avoid start laughing. Then, he tried again: “I mean that I feel like having a salad”. “What kind of salad are we going to ask for?” “Tuna?” “By the way, I had an enormous cat”.

“Why did you have an enormous cat?”, she was really curious now.

“I will tell you a secret”, he announced. “Never get a pet if you are starting a diet.” As soon as he said that he regretted.

Suddenly, she thought that it would be a good idea to change the subject. “What do you do?” “I was a lawyer before but I am a nurse now”.

“Sorry”, he said. “Did I say something wrong?” “Are we having a new date or you don’t want to see me anymore?” She noticed that he was feeling very vulnerable now, maybe ashamed for having told about his diet.

“I am going abroad this month but maybe next month…”, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to see him again.

“When will you come next month”, he asked. He was really nervous now, because he liked this woman and he didn’t want to lose the opportunity of meeting her again. In a try to relax the question, he said: “I went to London last month.”

“I have never been in London”, she replied. She was thinking where the waitress was when Paul put a little box on the table.

“Open this little box, I give it to you”, he said. She was on the point of leaving the restaurant but he stopped her: “Inside you will find the card of my company.” “I am a lawyer too.”. “Are you looking for a job?”.

She could finally relax and with no doubt she answered: “I will work with you”.
