“I have a dream “said Martin Luther King Jr.

“I have a dream that one day this nation will

rise up and live out the true meaning of its

creed: "We hold these truths to be self-

evident: that all men are created equal."

From the "I Have a Dream" speech,

Aug. 28, 1963

Martin Luther King Jr. had a huge dream

and as many of us remember, he died for his

dream of fairness and equality for all of his

countrymen.

Bill Gates had a dream that every home would have a computer; another big dream

that thankfully for most of us has come true. If it hadn’t I would not be sending out

this newsletter.

So what has this got to do with us ordinary folk?

We do not have to be a Martin Luther King Jr. or a Bill Gates to have a dream and

we don’t have to die for it either.

It is important, however, to have a dream to work towards. Some people dream big,

some people dream small. However, if you can dream a small dream you may as

well make it as big as you can. Small dreams take just as much effort as big ones.

Some people find it easy to hang onto their dream no matter what happens or how

long it takes for them to realize their dream.

Some people had a dream when they were young but had their dreams quashed by

their relatives, teacher or friends who ridiculed their dreams and did not support

them. To have your dreams squashed by someone who is an “authority” in your life

is very hurtful. It undermines your self confidence and belief in yourself. So when you

are in this situation it is very easy to give up and let the dream go.

I have a dream. I let it go for a while because I became distracted by other things.

However, I have it back now and I am hanging on to it like mad.

My dream is to be a part of a centre where families and individuals come to heal their

pain and trauma. A place of peace and sanctuary where a group of talented

therapists and some beautiful animals bring peace and healing into damaged lives. I

don’t know how I am going to realize this dream, but maybe that doesn’t matter. The

journey is teaching me so much.

Do you have a dream? Do you tell anyone your dream? What are you doing to work

towards realizing your dream? Are you already living your dream?

It is important to share your dream with the people that you trust to help you keep

your dream alive. We can’t do it by ourselves. I know that to be true as I have tried

and it didn’t work!

If you would like to, Email me and tell me about your dream. Perhaps we can help

each other to keep our dreams alive.

A few words about clutter

We all have it in various degrees. It lurks in our

cupboards, our garages and sheds. It creeps across the

floor of our rooms and sometimes up the walls. It saps

our energy and often makes us miserable.

Here’s a thought: let’s create an “Anti-Clutter Day”. A bit

like “Clean up Australia Day” but rather than being on a

national level, “Anti-Clutter Day” would be on a personal

level.

It would be a day when we throw out (or donate to a

charity shop for re-cycling) all the “stuff” that we no

longer need. It would be a day when we free ourselves

from the grip of “Clutter”. You will feel so much better

when you let go of all the things that you no longer need.

Letting go of clutter is not just about “stuff” it is also

about letting go of other things in your life that no longer

serve you. It can be letting go of relationships that do

not support you. It can be letting go of a job that makes

you miserable. It can be letting go of old beliefs and

thought patterns that clutter up your mind and hold you

back in life.

My suggestion to you:

Take the time to tidy up your home, your office and

your life. Free yourself from clutter. Enjoy the process

of letting go of all the “old stuff”. If you would like some

help Email me.

Having cleared our your “clutter” you now have the time and space to enjoy what is

really important in your life.

Until next time,

Best Wishes,

Hilary
