couple of the of most important years for a young student. What we are presenting to you today is valuable information that you will be able to carry with you for the rest of your life. The goal of this presentation is to convey crucial information to you regarding high school life.

Make good first impressions, especially on teachers

• The impressions you make during the first week of school affect your entire high school career

• Teachers talk to each other and remember names

• Don’t be a class clown• Ask questions after class• Make yourself known

Be yourself

• Be your own man. Don’t follow. Lead.

• If people don't like you the way you are, too bad. Keep it movin’

• The chances of you still seeing and hanging out with your high school friends in college are very slim.

Don't give into peer pressure

• You are smart and know what’s right, don’t let someone get in your head.

• Do you, if people want to do drugs or drink, don’t hate, just do you.

• Only participate in something if you WANT to. If you're curious, as us. Remember, it's your life, your high-school years. Do what YOU want to do

Try to make some friends

• Its never to early to network• Watch the company you keep, you can be guilty by

association.• Join clubs ,sports teams, band. Etc• Always remember, your friends in high school may not

be the same in college.Talk to Everyone• NETWORK• You never know who’s help you will need• Don’t try and fit into a certain “group” be yourself.

Be involved in some sort of extracurricular activity and after school activities

• Crossroads, sports, clubs etc.• Looks good on your resume. • Helps get you to college if your grades aren’t

“trouble”

Do not procrastinate

• Never the best thing to do; even if you work better under pressure

• Build good habits early, makes things much easier for you in the future

• The sooner you get things done, the more time you will have to do the things you like to do.

Be organized

• Very important trait to establish not only for school but for yourself

• Keep your notes, worksheets, homework and test scores all organized in a binder for each class. Or maybe two classes in one binder.

• Think about your future. College.

Eat breakfast and lunch• Your brain/body needs energy to perform, your brain is a muscle

like any other. It needs fuel• It's a scientifically proven fact that the average high-school student

performs better on a healthy meal as opposed to an unhealthy meal, and especially no meal at all.

A study in the Environmental Health Journal indicates that having a regular breakfast is associated with lower blood lead levels in children. In the study, children who ate breakfast had 15% lower blood lead levels than those who skipped breakfast.

GPA

• A good GPA– GPA (grade point average) is one of the most

important factors for college admission. Aim for a high GPA and get as many A’s as you can.

– Tests, Exams and Homework are critical to your GPA

Do your Homework• Complete your homework and turn it in on time! The

difference between an A and a B or a B and C may depend on homework. Usually they are easy points, so don’t neglect them.

• Complete the homework to the best of your abilities .Make sure you understand every part of your homework and hold onto them

Take advantage of Extra Credit, Participation and Class work• These should be easy points and grade boosters. Extra credits

are helpful because they can make up for any missed points. In other words, extra credit can only increase your overall grade.

• Take studying seriously, review your notes.… don’t just pretend

• Build productive habits that will help advance you later in life

• Being smart is your ticket to wealth; take advantage of your youth.

1. Develop your own personality. 2. Pick someone you have something in common

responsibilities.5. Include your parents. Until you are 18 and

move out of your house, your parents have final say in what you do and don't do.

6. Avoid gossip. While you can't avoid your friends, you can't include them in every aspect of your relationship7. Communication is Key8. Don't push your boundaries, and don't let anyone else cross them. If you don't know what the boundaries are in your relationship, establish them before you end up in an uncomfortable situation.9. Don't become obsessed. Remember that after high school, life changes dramatically.10. Don't alienate your friends. It is so easy to become so engulfed in a significant other that friends just don't seem as fulfilling anymore
