Highline 260i Waterside Fan Coil Unit
Fan Coil UnitThe most popular waterside control fancoil unit in the UK for the past 15years, recently updated with improvedfans having low Specific Fan Power.Initially designed to be fitted into aceiling void, the flexibility also allowsthe unit to be installed underfloor.Furthermore an alternative to thestandard design is the Highline 260d,which incorporates a detachabledischarge plenum and enables a moreflexible discharge arrangement.
ChassisUnits are manufactured from 1.0 -1.6mm hot dipped galvanised steel andare constructed without the use of selftapping screws. All thermal andacoustic lining is CFC and HCFC freeand class O fire rated. All bearingsand moving surfaces will operatewithout requiring further lubrication. All electrical components and electricalwiring comply with the current editionof the I.E.E. regulations. Each unit isfactory tested to ensure that it willcontinue to meet its specifiedperformance with the minimum ofmaintenance, throughout its life.
FansEach fan and motor assembly is fittedwith a high output permanent split-capacitor continuously rated motor, with built in thermal overloadprotection, complying with BS20481961 part 1 and BS5000 1973 part 2.The motor frame is totally enclosed andfitted with maintenance free sealed forlife sleeve bearings. All motors areinsulated to BS2757 class F. The fanscrolls are double inlet, double widthcentrifugal, manufactured from
galvanised steel, with galvanised steelor aluminium impellers. All fan andmotor assemblies are statically anddynamically balanced to prevent thetransmission of vibration.
TransformerThe speed control will be by variationof the voltage onto the motors via amulti-tapped transformer. Each fan coilunit is fitted with an on/off switch, a 3position speed switch and a trimmingswitch having 3 volt increments for fine adjustment. A separately fused 24VAC output is also fitted.
Heat ExchangersCoils are manufactured from 0.35 mmthick solid drawn copper tubes, mechanically expanded into accuratelypre-formed collars in rippledaluminium fins. The coils are arrangedfor single or multi-circuit operation viaheaders. Each coil is fitted with amanual air vent and drain point. Allcoils are factory tested to a minimumof 35 bar and are suitable for operatingpressures of up to 12 bar static head.Coils are fitted with 15 mm o/d plaincopper tails.
Condensate Drip TrayThe condensate drip tray ismanufactured from hot dippedgalvanised steel, welded at each corner. The tray is then degreased before anti-condensation insulation is applied to allinternal and external surfaces. The trayis fitted with 15 mm o/d plain brassconnection (22 mm o/d optional). Thetray has a built in gradient to ensurecorrect drainage of condensate.
Temperature Controls (WATERSIDE)The temperature controls will operateat 230/24v through a transformer.Temperature control shall be bymodulation of the control valvesallowing either chilled or heated waterto flow through the appropriate coil.
Air Filter Options Mesh Filter - The filter is permanent
and is manufactured from a finewoven mesh of galvanised steel wire, welded to a rigid galvanised steelframe. It can be vacuum cleanedin-situ, or periodically removed forwashing when necessary
Media type filter - Filters are EU2 toEurovent 4/5 and manufactured froma synthetic media secured to a wiremetal frame and fitted with handlesfor ease of cleaning and replacement.
Discharge/ Inlet PlenumThe discharge and inlet plenums areattenuated and thermally lined with a CFCand HCFC free class O fire retardantnon-migratory foam, which is both verminand rot proof. The density of the foam is11 kg/m³ thereby helping to reduce thetotal weight of the fan coil unit.
Electric Heat Element (if required)The element is manufactured fromstainless steel sheath with spiral woundstainless steel fins to minimise surfacetemperature. It is located upstream ofthe fan(s) to evenly distribute the heat tothe final discharge spigots. Each unitshall incorporate a manual reset hightemperature cut out and a PressureDifferential Switch or Current Switch, wired to prevent operation in the eventof a fan failure.

ACOUSTICSOUND PERFORMANCE
Correction to be added to Discharge only, to convert to Discharge Induct.
The discharge sound power levels shown above are based on all front spigots connected directly to an unlined plenum/grilles andmeasurements taken 1.5m from grille at 45o.
The NR levels shown above are for guidance only and are based on a typical office layout. We would recommend that advice istaken from an Acoustic Consultant to verify actual project noise levels. To achieve guide NR35 it is recommended that a maxi-mum velocity of 2.5m/s per outlet is not exceeded.
