Safety WarningsWhen using this product basic precautionsshould always be followed:• Read all the instructions before using the

product.• High pressure jets can be dangerous if

subject to misuse. The jet must not bedirected at persons, animals, electricaldevices, or the machine itself.

• To reduce the risk of injury, do notoperate the machine near children.

• Learn how to stop the machine andrelease pressure quickly. Be thoroughlyfamiliar with the controls.

• Stay alert — watch what you are doing.• Wear safety goggles.• Do not use acids, solvents, or any other

flammable material in this product. Theseproducts can cause physical injuries tothe operator and irreversible damage tothe machine.

• Do not operate the product when fatiguedor under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• Do not stand on unstable surfaces. Standwith both feet balanced at all times.

• To reduce the risk of electrocution, keepall connections dry and off the ground. Donot touch plug with wet hands.

• The Trigger Gun Safety Lock PREVENTSthe trigger from accidentally beingengaged. This safety feature DOES NOTlock trigger in the on position.

IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS – Read First!

Extension CordsUse a sufficient gauge:Up to 25 ft. = 12/3 AWG.25 to 50 ft. =10/3 AWG.Use only extension cords that are intendedfor outdoor use. These extension cords areidentified by a marking “Acceptable for usewith outdoor appliances; store indoors whilenot in use.” Use only extension cords havingan electrical rating not less than the rating ofthe product. Do not use damaged extensioncords. Examine extension cord before usingand replace if damaged. Do not abuse exten-sion cord and do not yank on any cord to dis-connect. Keep cord away from heat and sharpedges. Always disconnect the extension cordfrom the receptacle before disconnecting theproduct from the extension cord. If you areusing an extension cord, it should always becompletely unwound from the cable drum.

Grounding InstructionsThis product must be grounded. If it shouldmalfunction or breakdown, groundingprovides a path of least resistance forelectric current to reduce the risk of electricshock. This product is equipped with a cordhaving an equipment-grounding conductorand a grounding plug. The plug must beplugged into an appropriate outlet that isproperly installed and grounded in accor-dance with all local codes and ordinances.DANGER- Improper connection of theequipment-grounding conductor can result ina risk of electrocution. Check with a qualifiedelectrician or service personnel if you are indoubt as to whether the outlet is properlygrounded. Do not modify the plug providedwith the product - if it will not fit the outlet,have a proper outlet installed by a qualifiedelectrician. Do not use any type of adapterwith this product.

Caution • Follow the maintenance instructions

specified in the manual. • This machine has been designed for

use with cleaning detergent suppliedor recommended by the manufacturer.The use of other cleaning detergentsmay affect the operation of themachine and void the warranty.

Step 6Pull out the locking slidefrom the right side of thetrigger gun handle (A), andinsert the small end of thehigh pressure hose intoplace (B). Push the lockingslide back into the triggergun to lock the hose inposition (C).

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Water Supply (Cold Water Only)• Water hose must be at least 1/2 inch or

5/8 inch in diameter.• Flow rate of water supply must not fall

below 2 GPM (gallons per minute).• Flow rate can be determined by running the

water for one minute into an empty5-gallon container.

• The water supply temperature must notexceed 104°F/40°C.

• Never use the pressure washer to draw inwater contaminated with solvents, e.g.paint thinner, gasoline, oil, etc.NOTE: Dirt in the feed water willdamage the unit. To avoid this risk,we recommend fitting a water filter.

• Always prevent debris from being drawninto the unit by using a clean water sourceand an accessory water filter if required.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1Connect the high pressure hose to the highpressure outlet.

Step 3Connect the garden hose to the water inlet.

Step 4Connect garden hose to the cold watersource and turn water on completely.Plug the power cord into the power outlet.

Step 2Insert the quattro nozzle to the trigger gun.Press in against the spring tension and twistinto the locked position.

Step 5Unlock the lock of the trigger gun (A).Trigger the gun (B) to eliminate trapped air,wait for a steady flow of water to emergefrom the spray nozzle.

Step 6Turn on the pressure washer (I). Themotor starts only if the trigger of the gunis pulled and shuts off when the triggeris released.

Selecting the jetRelease the trigger of the handgun.Rotate the nozzle head until the symbol isaligned with the marking on the spray lance.Note: The marking on the spray lance mustbe up during operation.

WORKING WITH DETERGENTS

Step 1Turn Quattro Nozzle to Low pressureposition. Rotate the spray lance in thedirection of “ ” until reaching the stop.

Note: No detergent in high-pressure mode

Step 3Adjusting the detergent dosing valve to thedesired dosage.- Turn to the left: Meter detergent from

container 1.- Turn to the right: Meter detergent from

container 2.

Step 4Turn on the pressure washer. Pull trigger tooperate unit: Liquid detergent is drawn intothe unit and mixed with water. Applydetergent to work area. Do not allowdetergent to dry on surface.

Step 2a) Fill the Detergent Tanks (No.8a,No.8b)with the selected detergent, ensuring it isthe correct concentration (read recom-mended dosage on label) orb) Fill the Detergent Tank with Ready ToUse detergent.

Caution Never use: • Bleach, Chlorine products and other cor-

rosive chemicals • Liquids containing solvents

(i.e., paint thinner, gasoline, oils) • Trisodium phosphate products • Ammonia products • Acid-based productsThese chemicals will harm the unit and willdamage the surface being cleaned.

For best results see Cleaning Tips on pages 9 & 10 for specific infor-mation on how to clean different surfaces.Always Use Kärcher Detergents for Best Results.Kärcher biodegradable detergents are specially formulated to protect the environment and yourpressure washer. Special formula won’t clog the suction tube filter and will protect the internalparts of the pressure washer for a longer life. For Kärcher detergents, check your retailer or call:

Step 5Disconnect the high pressure hosefrom the high pressure outlet.

1. Disconnect all water connections.2. Turn on the machine for a few seconds,

until the water which had remained inthe pump exits. Turn off immediately.

3. Do not allow high pressure hose tobecome kinked.

SHUTTING DOWN & CLEAN-UP

Step 1Turn the switch to off (O)position and unplug cord fromoutlet.

Step 2Turn off the water source.

Step 3Press trigger to releasewater pressure.

Step 4Disconnect the garden hose fromthe water inlet on the unit.

TAKING A BREAK... five minutes or more

4. Store the machine and accessories ina room which does not reach freezingtemperatures. DO NOT store nearfurnance or other sources of heat as itmay dry out the pump seals.

Caution: Failure to follow the abovedirections will result in damage to thepump assembly and accessories.

5) Cleaning thewater inlet filterPull out the water in-let filter with flat-nosepliers and rinse out inwarm water.

CLEANING TIPS

Deck Cleaning(with or without detergent)Pre-rinse deck and surrounding area withfresh water. If using Kärcher Deck + FenceWash, apply to surface at low pressure. Forbest results, limit your work area to smallersections of approximately 25 square feet.Allow Deck Wash to remain on surface 1-3minutes. Do not allow detergent to dry onsurface. Rinse at high pressure in a longsweeping motion keeping the spray nozzleapproximately 3-6 inches from the cleaningsurface. Always clean from top to bottomand from left to right. When moving on to anew section of the cleaning surface, be sureto overlap the previous section to eliminatestop marks and ensure a more evencleaning result.Caution: Do not use rotary spray wandon wood surfaces as it may causedamage.

House Siding(with or without detergent)Pre-rinse cleaning surface with fresh water.If using Kärcher Pressure Wash, apply tosurface at low pressure (for best results,limit your work area to sections of approxi-mately 6 feet and always apply detergentfrom bottom to top). Allow Pressure Wash toremain on surface 1-3 minutes. Do not allowdetergent to dry on surface, if surfaceappears to be drying, simply wet downsurface with fresh water. If needed, usespecial wash brush attachment (notincluded) to remove stubborn dirt. Rinse athigh pressure from top to bottom in an evensweeping motion keeping the spray nozzleapproximately 6 inches from the cleaningsurface.Caution: Do not use rotary spray wandon siding as it may cause damage.

Cement Patios, Brick andStone(with or without detergent)Pre-rinse cleaning surface with fresh water.If using Kärcher Pressure Wash orDegreaser, apply to surface at low pressure.For best results, limit your work area tosmaller sections of approximately 25 squarefeet. Allow Pressure Wash or Degreaser toremain on surface 1-3 minutes. Do not allowdetergent to dry on surface. Rinse at highpressure in a sweeping motion keeping thespray nozzle approximately 3-6 inches fromthe cleaning surface. Always clean from topto bottom and from left to right.For removing extremely stubborn stains,use the rotary spray wand.

Cars, Boats & Motorcycles(with or without detergent)Pre-rinse vehicle with fresh water. If usingKärcher Vehicle Wash, apply to surface atlow pressure. For best results, clean oneside of vehicle at a time and always applydetergent from bottom to top, do not allowdetergent to dry on surface. If needed, usespecial wash brush attachment (notincluded) to remove stubborn dirt. Rinse athigh pressure in a sweeping motion keepingthe spray nozzle approximately 6-8 inchesfrom the cleaning surface (distance shouldincrease when rinsing pin-striping or othersensitive surfaces). Always clean from topto bottom and from left to right. For bestresults, wipe surface dry with a chamois orsoft dry cloth.Caution: Do not use the rotary spraywand on vehicles as it may causedamage.

Recommendations• Before cleaning any surface an incon-

spicuous area should be cleaned to testspray pattern and distance for maximumcleaning results.

• If painted surfaces are peeling orchipping, use extreme caution aspressure washer may remove the loosepaint from the surface.

• When using on surfaces which mightcome in contact with food, flush surfaceswith plenty of drinking water.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Disconnect the machine from the power source before making any repair.

Try a different outlet.

Replace with a 1/2 inch or 5/8inch garden hose.

Check garden hose for kinks,leaks and blockage.

Open water source full force.

Remove filter and rinse out inwarm water.

Turn spray wand to high pressureposition.

Turn water on full force. Checkgarden hose for kinks, leaks orblockage.

Check that hoses and fittings areair tight. Turn off machine andpurge pump by squeezing triggergun until a steady flow of wateremerges through the nozzle.

Remove filter and rinse out inwarm water.

Blow out or remove debris with afine needle.

Run distilled vinegar throughdetergent tank.
