MONTHLY MATCH It was a dark and stormy night. No, really it was! For the brave campers on Saturday night at the range we had a little bit of everything. Wind, rain, dust. Come morning, it looked pretty bad but by the time we started

shooting, it had cleared off and turned out to be a nice day. Preacher wrote the stages and they were actually a lot of fun with some interesting lines. Grace had her "Underwear Shoot" so I'll let her tell you about that. 27 shooters in all. SHOOT OUT ON THE COMSTOCK I know, here we go again. Well, we are now only a few weeks from our big annual match.

Jasper is working with the Boy Scouts and we just about have them in place. We will be doing a pot luck dinner at the Range on Saturday night along with the awards. If you want to help out, please let us know. We can use all the help we can get. According to Dutch, as of 5-4-13 we only have 47 registered shooters. If you are not registered, DO IT NOW! This is OUR Annual Shoot and we should have all of our

own members participating that can. We also need donations for the raffle. If you have something you don't use

and can spare it, bring it to the shoot. This is the big fund raiser for us during the year so we can buy targets, build props, pay for Ike's retirement, etc., etc.

ARROYO CANTUA The Nevada Contingent represented itself very well over in California at the Arroyo Cantua shoot. Frontiersman Big Dave # 1, Tumbleweed Ed # 2. Frontier Cartridge Dutch Dalton # 1. Senior Gunfighter Fanner Fifty # 1 Gunfighter Bobcat Tyler # 1 and #2 over all for the match! Wrangler JJ # 2 Senior Duelist Reno Slim # 2 Duelist Sheriff Winchester # 3 As a side note, JJ showed the folks from the Golden State how to run a 73 in the Speed Rifle Side Match with some ungodly time of about 2.5 seconds from 'Port-of-Arms' for 10 shots. NEW SHOOTERS SEMINAR AND DEADEYE DICK'S 97 CLASS On Saturday, June 1st, Drifter John will be giving a new shooters seminar at the range in Fernley. Starts at 9:00 am. He will need some Cowboys to help him and to bring guns and ammo. (Something we are all good at.) John has done a great job getting the word out with flyers and radio ads so we hope for a good turnout. After the new shooters school, Deadeye Dick will be putting on a 97 Shotgun class. He will be teaching you tips and techniques to make you a better shooter and how do disassemble (and reassembly) that complicated contraption. Bring your 97 and have some fun! SHERIFF'S / LAW ENFORCEMENT SHOOT AT BOCA RESERVOIR On Tuesday, June 4th, we will be putting on an exhibition of Cowboy Shooting for the California Sheriff's Association at Boca Reservoir. El Dorado and Drifter John are helping out with this one because it is in their backyard. They can use all of the help they can get if you can make it. Contact Jasper for more info.

DEADEYE DICK AND DUTCH DALTON'S SHOOTERS SCHOOL On Saturday, July 13th at 9:00 am, Dick and Dutch will present a shooters school. According to Dick, it will be based on the Evil Roy shooting method. It will certainly be informative. Dick and Dutch ask that you bring snap caps that fit your guns for the school. If you want to learn techniques to help your game, this is where you want to be. RANGE OWNERSHIP Nothing new to report. Still in holding pattern pending the sale. We have talked to several of the employees over at the track and they are pretty excited that Dan Simpson is in the process of making a lot of improvements and cleaning up the place so that is good news. That is about all I have for now. Thanks to the brave souls that dallied forth in their underwear to make Grace's shoot a success. Howdy all and Happy May Well, in spite of the weather, we had a pretty good turnout for our May monthly match. Thank you to everyone that showed up to play. We had a few or more brave shooters accept my underwear challenge. The weather actually cooperated with being not too cold or not too hot.

I hope you all are enjoying that wonderful, fantastic prize that was awarded to you :) I'm looking forward to our annual picnic, which will be in Carson City this year. Keep reading the newsletters for follow up information. Also, please remember that I'm always looking for new things for us to do. So...if you have any ideas, please let me know. I hope you all have a great month as spring weather continues to make it's way into our pleasant state. And I also wanted to wish all of our mothers a Happy Mother's Day on Sunday, the 12th.
