10 minutes about us......

HPC has a small number of staff located at Gardens Point; we specialise in one of these areas:

Qualitative methods

Quantitative methods

Data modeling

Data visualisation

Data simulation

Survey Web software and support (via Key Survey)

Programming and code optimisation

Scientific software

Supercomputing resources and support

Small group, so our emphasis is to try to give you the skills and expertise to

undertake any of the above activities in your research work

HPC services that may assist you?

• Qualitative Research Assistance (Bernadette Savage)

Qualitative research methods

Consultations

Seminars

NVivo tutorials (introductory and advanced)

Leximancer tutorials

• Quantitative Modelling (Ray Duplock)

Statistical learning algorithms (from a regression perspective -- CART,

Bagging/Boosting algorithms, LAR and Lasso regressions etc)

Statistics (regression based statistical models)

Statistical software problems [SPSS, Stata, Salford Predictive Miner]

Please note, to get access to any of the above software (e.g., NVivo, Leximancer, SPSS,

Stata etc) contact the ITS helpdesk via their Web contact form at:

• Online Survey System -- Key Survey (Donald Gee)

This online survey tool allows you to develop and administer online surveys

Free to QUT staff and students (not for personal consultancies)

Consultations using Key Survey

Workshops (introductory and advanced)

Please note, Donald will not develop your survey – he will advise you on

software related issues if necessary

Key Survey is widely used in QUT and has supported over 2,200 active surveys and

210,000 responses. See the website http://survey.qut.edu.au
