High Elms Golf Club Men’s Section News Date - Wednesday 29th April Stay at Home - Stay Safe & Stay Well… MATT EDWARDS - CAPTAIN 2020 [email protected] 07770 643788 1 These are personal views only. Lockdown News - Golf has re-opened in Denmark The Danes have now eased restrictions and golf courses are back open. Hopefully we will be following suit in the not too distant future. How may it look in the UK? When we eventually get back to playing at High Elms, we need to accept that there will be some changes, whether we like it or not. We will only be playing in two’s Social distancing rules must continue (should be easy on a golf course) Flags may not be available, just be grateful you are playing. (I will suggest some options) Rakes will not be in bunkers Tee times will be more than 7 minutes apart, at least 10 mins or more. Buggies may not be available, and if they are they will be single occupancy Tee Time capacity will be greatly reduced. Scorecards may need to be sent digitally if we are to run competitions. We need to work together to ensure we all stay safe and get back to enjoying our fantastic course. Course Update I met with Ryan & Pete (our Greenkeepers this morning) and the greens were being manicured ready for our return mid to end of May (fingers crossed). Shire Bowl (still hopeful) I am hoping to confirm this event within the next couple of weeks. Obviously we will have to comply with Social Distancing and government guidelines. Golf Pass Don’t miss out on the 2 free months that is currently available. So how was your knowledge of High Elms? The sunniest April on record and no golf. Nobody managed to identify the locations of every photo taken on a beautiful sunny 10th April…How did you do? 1. 17th Tee Box 2. 14th Green from under the tree 3. Distant view from 6th tee 4.
