What X(125) tell us?• After SM‐like Higgs boson discovered this July, talking about BSM is kind of risky!

• Why? Renormalizability of SM implies that next scale is much higher than electro‐weak scale ,  inferred from K. Wilson RG flow analysis

• In SM, Higgs boson mass is a free parameter, could be enormous! The light Higgs boson needs to be stabilized, otherwise fine‐tuning problem!

• Then, why so light ?

Previous wisdom on why light

• Supersymmetric (SUSY) models: due to approximate supersymmetry

mH<mZ at tree level in MSSM!

• Little Higgs (LH) models: due to approximate global symmetry

• Gluinos, squarks etc. in SUSY not found!

• Extra gauge bosons W` and/or Z` etc. in LH not found!

Why additional CPV?• Sakharov 3 conditions for matter asymmetry in the Universe

• SM does satisfy 3 conditions, but insufficient

• Seeking additional source of CP violation is one of the most important motivations of B‐factories, super B‐factories and LHCb

Two kinds of CPV

• Explicit CPV, in the interactions. E.g. CPV in CKM can be traced back to Yukawa interactions

• Spontaneous CPV due to complex vacuum!

History: Spontaneous CPV• 1973 by T.D. Lee,  as the new source of CPV

• 1976,  by Weinberg, a minimum of three Higgs doublets are necessary in order to have spontaneous CP violation with natural flavor conservation condition

• After substituting those conditions into Higgs potential, we trade v1, v2, ξ with m1

• The last equation does not necessarily hold for the CP‐conserving case, namely ξ=0 is the trivial solution. In this case  the would‐be‐eliminated parameter will  eventually control the mass of pseudo‐scalar, usually denoted as A in literature.

Extending to more cgeneral case …

• Does the mass of the physical lightest neutral Higgs boson in the most general spontaneous CP violation models also approach 0 in the CP invariant limit?

• The answer is yes if the ξ =0 is the trivial solution to equations of the stationary conditions!

Conclusion and Discussion• We have revealed intimate connection between the spontaneous CP violation and the lightness of the Higgs boson

• Such connection implies that there should be more Higgs sectors and additional CP violation arising from the complex vacuum. X(125) is not pure CP‐even sate as in SM, and it is the mixing state of CP‐even and CP‐odd.

• Besides the LHC, dedicated Higgs factory may be needed in order to precisely measure the detailed information of the lightest neutral Higgs boson. The whole Higgs spectrum and couplings can only be revealed at the next generation colliders.
