Life Cycle Assessment
LCA is a scientific method to quantify the environmental impacts of products or services, associated with all the stages of a product's life, which is from raw material extraction through materials processing, manufacture, distribution, use and end of life.

Cradle to Grave
The boundaries in Higg PM are “cradle to grave”; from the impacts of raw material extraction (cradle) to the material factory gate (finished material before it is transported to the assembly/finished goods processing) are included.

Cradle to factory gate.
The boundaries in Higg PM Stage 1 are “Cradle to Factory gate”.
From the impacts of raw material extraction (cradle) to the material factory gate (finished material before it is transported to the assembly/finished goods processing) are included.
