Hiep Si Committee Service Committee – Tr. Danny Tran Campaign Chair – Description: Helps with the planning and execution of our Doan's campaigns. Skills: Must have good organization skills. Must have good communication skills. Must be creative to come up with new campaign ideas. Hiep Si CommitteeService Committee – Tr. Danny Tran

Campaign Chair – Description: Helps with the planning and execution of our Doan's

campaigns. Skills: Must have good organization skills. Must have good communication

skills. Must be creative to come up with new campaign ideas. Tasks:

o Make announcements to the parents and cong doan about the current campaign.

o Must be in charge of creating and distributing campaign materials.o Must be creative in making campaign materials (work with design

Sad Change Campaign for the Needy, Gift for Baby Jesus Campaign (Coin Drive), Thanksgiving Campaign (Canned Food Drive), Spiritual Communion Campaign, Rosary Campaign (during October). Work with service chair.

Prayer/Offertory Chair – Description: Helps organize Thieu Nhi events for religious holidays,

Eucharistic Adoration, and other prayer events Skills: Must follow the Catholic calendar. Must know/learn how to conduct

prayer sessions and Eucharistic Adoration. Must understand the basic structure of Mass.

Tasks:o Help organized Eucharistic Adoration every month.o Come up with creative ways to do Eucharistic Adoration (dance,

activity, etc…).

o Coordinate a Rosary/Stations of the Cross event during the appropriate season (work with campaign chair).

o Help take care of assigning readings and offerings during mass on the 1st and 3rd of the month.

o Help with prayers for the beginning and end of sinh hoat.o Coordinate with campaign chair on spiritual bouquet offering on the 1st

of the month during mass.

Service Chair – Myan Le Description: Helps with the planning and execution of community service

events. Skills: Must have good people skills. Must be creative to come up with new

service events. Must be able to communicate with people involved in the services. Must plan events according to Catholic seasonal caldenar.

Tasks:o Coordinate and plan community service projects.o Create community service events.o Execute the following known service projects: Canned Food Drive (plan

with campaign chair), Caroling at a Retirement Home, Soup Kitchen for Nghia Si/Hiep Si, PB&J Sandwiches for the Homeless, and Serving Hot Chocolate and Caroling after Mass during Christmas.

o Keep track of doan sinh’s spirit during these events.o Work with Bulletin Editor to take pictures of these events.o Work with Public Relations Chair to make announcements to the

parents and cong doan and to help contact organizations.

Community Involvement Committee – Tr. Chau Truong

Bulletin Editor Chair – Ban Nguyen Description: Helps update and maintain events and announcements on the

bulletin board. Skills: Must be organized. Must have a creative eye to decorate to appeal to

others. Must be good at keeping track of events. Tasks:

o Organize and maintain the bulletin board.o Work with Tr. Jackie on updates and current events to post on the

bulletin board.o Must be able to take pictures at various events to put on the bulletin

board , newsletters, and social network sites (work with technology chair).

o Must make sure that people do not deface the TNTT bulletin board.

Public Relations Chair – Description: Helps huynh truong with getting messages out to the parents &

cong doan. Skills: Must have good communication skills. Must be polite, well spoken,

and slightly political. Must be able to speak Vietnamese and English. Tasks:

o Must help communicate with parents for volunteering, cooking, and transportation (work with Recruiting Chair).

o Must be able to tell parents where they can find information about certain subjects (Refer to huynh truong about student progress, information about TNTT, or other concerns).

o Be able to help clarify misunderstanding parents might have or refer them to a huynh truong who can help them.

o Refer to Huynh Truong for current doan information and events.o Relay concerns to Doan Truong or Nganh Truong (if the concern

pertains or a particular nganh).

Recruiting Chair – Description: Helps to recruit parents to volunteer and invite parents and the

youth of the parish to TNTT. Skills: Must have good communication skills. Must learn to be appealing to

both parents and the youth. Must have sufficient TNTT knowledge. Must schedule accordingly with parental help.

Tasks:o Must be able to spot kids age 7+.o Must be able to convince kids AND parents to join TNTT.o Help communicate with parents about the benefits of TNTT.o Must be able to ask parents to help volunteer for Thieu Nhi activities.o Must be able to keep track of the parents progress with helping.o For those who aren’t sure what TNTT is, refer them to a knowledgeable

huynh truong.

Van Nghe Chair – Vivian Le Description: helps with scheduling, preparing, and tracking entertainment

for special events Skills: Must have knowledge of putting on a good show. Must know the basic

materials of performances (costumes, sound system, etc…). Must be good at assigning tasks (MC, Choreographers, Acts, etc...). Must be good at getting the word out.Tasks:

o Coordinate TNTT Anniversary Celebration.o Compile and list of performance for TNTT Anniversary, Dai Hoi La Vang,

Tet Trung Thu, Tet, and other events.

o Assign tasks or keep track of who is taking care of which act.o Track the progress of each performance on a weekly basis.o Know and compile the schedule for rehearsal.o Schedule a dress rehearsal no later than a day before the event.o Work with the Recruiting Chair and Public Relations Chair to get help

with cooking, costumes, and sound system.o Work with Design chair to create props and decorations for the event.

Treasury Committee – Tr. Allen Guelas

Camping/Retreat/Events Chair – Description: Helps with maintaining schedules and preparing supplies for

camps, socials, retreats, and other events. Skills: Must be organized. Must be able to make sure schedules go according

to plan. Must learn to be flexible with time delays. Must keep track of materials needed for certain events.

Tasks:o Keep track of budgets for events (how much can we spend? What do

you need?).o Keep a check list of all supplies needed for the event.o Create a shopping list for Huynh Truong to buy supplies as necessary.o If schedules are behind, find a way to cut the time or extent the

project.o Make sure everything for the event runs smoothly (if it is a community

event, work with van nghe chair).o Make sure that everything we use, goes back to where they belong in

an orderly fashion.

Fundraising Chair – Christopher Bui Description: Helps with the planning and execution of fundraising events. Skills: Must be good with keep track of money and other quantities. Must be

creative, yet realistic in approaches for fundraising. Must set goals for specific fundraising projects.Tasks:

o Create fundraising ideas that are realistic but fun.o Assign tasks for people for fundraising events (who will sell during

which mass? Who is in charge of advertising the fundraiser? Who will be cashier, etc..?).

o Create a goal (amount, for want event, etc…).o Create prize categories to encourage doan sinh to help fundraiser. Get

this approved by Executive Committee of our doan (Huynh Truong).

Inventory Chair – Andy Tran

Description: Helps keep track of supplies, inventory, and short term budgeting.

Skills: Must be good with keeping track of Thieu Nhi general supplies. Must be good at keeping track of re-orders. Must be good with budgeting for supplies.

Tasks: o Keep track of T-shirt, khan, and other supplies.o Keep track or re-order forms or needed supplies.o Keep track of supplies for camping/retreat/socials with Events Chair.o Set a budget for spending for necessary items (PA system, Mirrors for

dance practice, Projector, etc…).

Chapter Organization Committee – Tr. Jacqueline Phan

Design Chair – Suzanne Le Description: Helps to create decorations and posters for special events. Skills: Must have artistic ability. Must be creative. Must be good at making

posters and designing pictures and artwork. Must know how to budget artwork materials.

Tasks:o Helps make posters for fundraising and events (work with fundraising

chair and events chair).o Helps decorate van nghe and events using streamers, banners, etc…o Must create a theme or design for specific events.o Must help communicate with parents to make costumes (with van

nghe chair).o Must create a spending budget for art supplies (contact huynh truong).o Must create slideshows or presentations for settings of shows (work

with the technology chair).o Must assign people to help create scenery and props for shows and

events.

Leadership Chair – Brian Vu Description: Helps instill leadership skills into doan sinh (especially Doi

Truong/Doi Pho) Skills: Must have good leadership skills. Must have sufficient Thieu Nhi

knowledge. Must be discipline, yet fun. Must be able to appeal to doan sinh. Must have a loud voice.

o Must be able to communicate with Spirit Chairs to create leadership games, cheers, and songs to help doan sinh understand Jesus as a leader.

o Must help plan Doi Truong/Doi Pho camp and help teach the lessons.o Communicate with Doi Truong/Doi Pho to get assignments turned in

from Doan Sinh.o Make sure that Doi Truong/Doi Pho are assigning tasks to their Doi Vien

as well.o Help instill good morals into doan sinh using Jesus’s teachings and the

teachings of the Catholic church (cleaning, humility, thanksgiving, etc…).

Paperwork Chair – Lynne Truong Description: Helps ht keep track of forms and paperwork collection. Skills: Must be organized. Must be able to keep track of events. Must be able

to use excel. Must know how to keep track of short-term finances for events. Must be able to prepare documents for sending after huynh truong write the documents.

Tasks:o Must help Tr. Jackie collect of the registration forms and fees at the

beginning of the year.o Keep track of all permission slips and VAP forms for events.o Create an excel chart for who has turned in what.o Help prepare prints, packets, and envelopes when necessary.o Work with Tr. Danny to get approval signatures .

Spirit Chair (Cheers/Songs) – Ly Le Description: helps with building doan sinh's spirit and faith through

Biblicious cheers and songs. Skills: Must be active. Must be able to appeal to doan sinh. Must have

sufficient Thieu Nhi/Bible knowledge in order to create links to Thieu Nhi. Must know 80% of sinh hoat songs. Must be able to create cheers/songs in a short amount of time. Must have a loud voice.

Tasks:o Must be able to work with the Games Spirit Chair, Huynh Truong, and

Leadership chair to create or come up with songs.o Must read the Gospel every week to come up with a good cheer or

song .to fit the Gospel theme or the seasonal theme of the Catholic Church.

o Must be able to come up with cheers or songs on the spot.o Must be able to relate the cheers and songs directly to Jesus or the

Bible.o Learn most of the sinh hoat songs and Ca Chinh Thuc.

o Look up worship songs and cheers online to teach to the students.o Know BOTH English and Vietnamese songs.

Spirit Chair (Games) – Calvin Kleber Description: Helps with building doan sinh's spirit and faith through

Biblicious activities and games. Skills: Must be active. Must be able to appeak to doan sinh. Must have

sufficient Thieu Nhi/Bible knowledge in order to create games that relate to Thieu Nhi. Must be able to come up with cheers/songs to pump up spirit before the game. Must be able to create/come up with games in a short amount of time. Must have a loud voice.

Tasks:o Must be able to come up with games that pertain to the Gospel story

that week or the current seasonal theme.o Must work with the Cheers/Songs Spirit Chair, Huynh Truong, and

Leadership Chair to create relating games.o Must be able to come up with creative games on the spot.o Must supply materials for games every week.o Must read the Gospel in advance to come up with the activity or game

(Ex. Puppet Play, Jeopardy, Active Games, Sports, etc…).o Must be able to explain how the activity or game pertains to God (what

is the moral of the game?).o Must also be able to come up with cheers pertaining to Jesus or the

Bible (Ex. We Love Jesus, Yes we Do. We Love Jesus, How About You?).

Teaching Chair – Vanvan Nguyen Description: Helps other hiep si by refreshing them on basic knowledge

skills. Skills: Must have sufficient Thieu Nhi/Bible knowledge. Must be a good

people person. Must learn and create fun activities to share with other people teaching.

Tasks:o Must know a basic Thieu Nhi/Bible knowledge and terms.o Be able to help other Hiep Si come up with lesson plan ideas.o Look up fun activities on Christian learning websites.o Help instill good morals into doan sinh (work with leadership chair).o Help create lesson goals for fellow Hiep Si.o Keep track of learning progress of doan sinh and the teaching progress

of Hiep Si.

Technology Chair – Lynda Pham Description: Helps update social media/network and assists with

technological mechanisms.

Skills: Must have good technological skills. Must be able to use a computer, projector, sound system, and other electronic devices. Must know how to use basic Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Photoshop. Must be creative when creating computerized lessons.

Tasks:o Be able to create Powerpoint presentations for background and

scenery for shows or for spiritual bonding and praise.o Be able to fix broken gadgets.o Must be able to help transfer images onto the computer using

Photoshop.o Must be able to help create designs and logos (work with design chair).o Help update the website, gallery, and social networking by getting

people to check back often.o Must create flyers for events.o Must be able to help other Hiep Si transfer their lesson plans onto the

computer if necessary.o Must be able to work a sound system or learn how to.
