WELCOME to Hickman's Hamps

Our family has been raising registered Hampshires for nearly 30 years. The mission we have had since the beginning is to breed sound, functional hamps that also catch your eye. We feel that this offering brings all of that together. Normally we would not sell this many head, but due to Beau moving to Washington for work, the timing is right to pare down a bit. This is a tremendous opportunity to purchase our best stud rams, yearling ewes, and ewe lambs. Jim is also digging into his tank to offer some great semen. Hickman’s Hamps has had winners at NAILE, Sedalia, and Ohio but the best complements are from fellow breeders that let us know our hamps have done a great job for them. This sale offers our best; futurity contenders, state fair quality yearling ewes, or top genetics to breed on. Please do not hestitate to call, email or stop by to check out the entries. Visits welcome after May 27th. The website contains pictures of front & rear views of most lots. Policies & information follow on page 2. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to seeing or talking to you.

The Hickmans Jim, Joy & Beau

HICKMAN 729 RR-ET "BASIL"

Sire: "Boomerang"Dam: 553

2nd yearling ram at 2011 NAILE. His son 862RR was Reserve Campion Ram at 2012 Ohio Showcase. We are selling 1/2 interest with immediate possession. We retain semen.

HICKMAN 797 RR

Sire: "Ahead"Dam: 453

4th February ram at 2011 NAILE. Twin brother to Wise Hampshires stud ram “Dragon”. 453 was a great donor ewe for years.

HICKMAN 806 RR

Sire: 700Dam: 772

5th February ewe at 2011 NAILE. Her maternal sister was top selling ewe at Ohio in 2010. A big time show ewe.

HICKMAN 794 RR

Sire: "Ahead"Dam: 766 ("Whitey" granddaughter)

Her twin was sold at Sedalia last year and has also grown well. This same mating was flushed again for 2012 with great results.

HICKMAN 803RR Yearling Ewe

Sire: "Basil"Dam: 543 ("441" granddaughter)

This is the one we have debated the most about keeping. She has so many great qualities and this ewe provides a ringing endorsement for her sire. A great maternal line here provides another reason to jump all over this ewe. Shown slick or fit-ted she would be great, and then time for the donor pen.

HICKMAN 810RR Yearling Ewe

Sire: "Ahead"Dam: 665 ("Whitey" daughter)

810’s twin brother 809, will be one of our lead studs this fall. 665’s lamb this year is 878, our lead Ram Lamb. 665 will be flushed this year, so this is a chance to buy into our all time best ewe family.

HICKMAN 778RR Yearling Ewe

Sire: "Basil"Dam: 660 ("Whitey" daughter)

A big, strong ewe that will do wonders in the lambing barn. Breed her to an extended and stylish ram and she has the bone and wool to carry him.

HICKMAN 816RR Yearling Ewe

Sire: "Ahead"Dam: 693 ("Whitey" daughter)

This ewe was raised as a bottle lamb and has done very well for herself. She should keep growing being born later in the spring.

Lot #9 Lot #10

Lot #12 Lot #11

HICKMAN 812RR Yearling Ewe

Sire: "Basil"Dam 668 ("Whitey" daughter)

This ewe was born tiny as her brother took most of the birthweight, but she has kept coming and now is a super solid ewe who should produce in the lambing barn. Great “Basil” bone and breed character. This ewe could handle some competition slick shorn.

HICKMAN 878RR January Ram Lamb

Sire: "Basil"Dam: 665 ("Whitey" daughter)

This is a heck of a stud prospect. He is as complete and sound as they come. 665 has earned a trip to the donor pen after this lambing. She had 809 (stud ram) and Lot #6 last year in her first lambing. He sells only because we want to make an impact with our first sale.

HICKMAN 872RR January Ram Lamb

Sire: "Devil"Dam: 683 ("Kobe" daughter)

This lamb was sheared the end of April. His twin, 873, was 1st Jan Ram at Ohio. In 2011 683 produced Champ Ram at the Corn Belt and a $1050 ewe lamb at Ohio. This lamb should get big, and look at the wool!

HICKMAN 891RR-ET January Ram Lamb

Sire: "Kobe" ("Boomerang" x 441's twin sister)

Dam: Mission Bell 6047

6047 has produced: 1st Jan Ewe Lamb 2011 NAILE, 1st Jan Ram Lamb 2011 Sedalia, 741 (Stud Ram for Barnes). Do not sleep on these ET ram and ewe lambs. They are solid building blocks. 891 has been a favorite since birth. A very complete, well put together ram.

HICKMAN 905RR-ET January Ram Lamb

Sire: "Kobe" ("Boomerang" x 441's twin sister)

Dam: Mission Bell 6047

6047 has produced: 1st Jan Ewe Lamb 2011 NAILE, 1st Jan Ram Lamb 2011 Sedalia, 741 (Stud Ram for Barnes). Do not sleep on these ET ram and ewe lambs. They are solid building blocks. 905 got the short-end of the recip stick but has come on strong!

HICKMAN 908RR February Ram Lamb

Sire: "Basil"Dam: 608 (Sired by a Deakin 01-776 grandson)

In a lot of ways 908 is my favorite. He should continue to grow, and you will be hard pressed to find a lamb put together this well. 608’s “Devil” ewe lamb was Reserve Junior Champion last year at Sedalia and her twin is retained.

HICKMAN 913RR February Ram Lamb

Sire: "700"("Whitey" x Schlichter Z-18)Dam: 602 ("Goodfellow"x"Boomerang"daughter)

“700” is the sire of Lot #3 and of the 2012 Reserve Junior Champion Ram at the Ohio Showcase. Double-bred “Boomerang” with loads of bone, wool and correctness.

HICKMAN 874RR January Ewe Lamb

Sire: "Devil"Dam: 655 ("Whitey" daughter)

655 may be headed to the donor pen along with her sister 665. Seriously, the “Whitey” ewes produce! This pedigree carries the most influential studs of the past decade: 99-32, 01-776, Boomerang, Devil, Whitey...874 is a true show ewe who will make you ecstatic when its time to lamb.

HICKMAN 870RR January Ewe Lamb

Sire: "Basil"Dam: 591 (01-776 daughter)

591 was born in 2008 in the same AI batch as “Honey” and “Devil” among others. This is a stout, broody easy doing “Basil” ewe that will produce! She is big and com-plete enough to be a futurity contender.

HICKMAN 886RR-AI January Ewe Lamb

Sire: "Ahead"Dam: 758 ("Devil" daughter)

A really nice AI ewe lamb that combines some great breeding. “Ahead” x “Devil” creates lambs with wool and style but also nice thickness and hip.

HICKMAN 882RR-ET January Ewe Lamb

Sire: "Kobe"("Boomerang" x 441's twin sister)Dam: Mission Bell 6047

6047 has produced: 1st Jan Ewe Lamb 2011 NAILE, 1st Jan Ram Lamb 2011 Sedalia, 741 (Stud Ram for Barnes). Do not sleep on these ET ram and ewe lambs. They are solid building blocks. 882 has caught your eye since the day she was born. Hard to make them much better.

HICKMAN 896RR-ET January Ewe Lamb

Sire: "Ahead"Dam: 766 ("Whitey" granddaughter)

Full sister to Lot #4. It seems the tighter you line up these genetics the more solid ewes we get. A beautiful ewe lamb that has always stood out for me.

HICKMAN 880RR-ET January Ewe Lamb

Sire: "Kobe" ("Boomerang" x 441's twin sister)

Dam: Mission Bell 6047

6047 has produced: 1st Jan Ewe Lamb 2011 NAILE, 1st Jan Ram Lamb 2011 Sedalia, 741 (Stud Ram for Barnes). Do not sleep on these ET ram and ewe lambs. They are solid building blocks. 880 would be great in a slick class, there is not a hole to be found here.

HICKMAN 921RR February Ewe Lamb

Sire: "BB" ("Devil" x "Boomerang")Dam: Frame 345

A really great cross here. We got what we wanted: bone, wool, and great depth of body...this lamb will show! This is a hamp built the right way. Check out her pic at www.hickmanshamps.com for the full front shot!

HICKMAN 914RR February Ewe Lamb

Sire: "Devil"Dam: 668 ("Whitey" daughter)

This was the last "Devil" lamb born in MN this year. Hopefully there will be a few more coming in the fall! Stock up on the few daughters we offer, they have worked very well in their first lambing! This one could handle some competition this summer/fall.

"DEVIL" RR - 5 Straws of Semen

Sire: Deakin 01-776Dam: Spracklen 22132213 dammed "504" as well as "Devil". Sired by the "Old Deakin" buck, he carries along all of those positive traits. "Devil" has sired countless stud rams for breeders and his females are just starting to make their mark here in the lamb-ing barn. In 2011 he had 1st Jan Ewe Lamb NAILE, 1st Jan Ram at Sedalia, Res Jr Champ Ewe at Sedalia, and $2200 yrl ewe at Ohio. He works...

"WHITEY" RR - 5 Straws of Semen Sire: "Boomerang"

Dam: 481 (99-32 daughter)

One of the stellar group of rams born in 2007, along with "Kobe" and "Peter". He has sired two stud rams we have used "Mac" and "700". His lambs have averaged well over $1000.00. Buy this and pray for girls!

"AHEAD" RR - 5 Straws of Semen Sire: 99-32

Dam: 504

504 produced "Honey", "Peter" and many others. She was also Jr Champ at Louisville herself. 99-32 needs no introduction, he has been one of the foundation sires of our flock the past 10-15 years.

"441" RR - 5 Straws of Semen Sire: 99-32

Dam: 301

The biggest ram we have ever raised. He was over 43" x 45", and sired some great sheep for us. His females were shining stars for us in the lambing barn. If you have conventional ewes that need a shot of something to make them unique, this is the ram.

"Peter" RR - 5 Straws of SemenSire: "Taylor Made"

Dam: 504

"Peter" sired many winners and high-sellers for us including Res Champ Ram at Ohio Showcase in 2008, and Grand Ewe at Ohio Showcase in 2010. 504 was Jr Champ Ewe at Louisville in 2005 and also dammed "Honey", the 2008 Res Champ Ewe at Louisville.
