Visual Manual: The steps on how to prepare the papaya

I would like to say that the One who created each one of us is God, the Creator. His purpose of Creation is to give birth to a child who could inherit His very own eternal life. To this end, God in heaven, before Creation, gave birth to the spirits that would turn into all the things of the universe and also gave birth to the spirits that would become humans.

These human spirits are what we call divine spirits. God then granted breath to all the spirits He produced; God injected His purpose of Creation in breath. With His breath, God endowed us divine spirits with His life, con-sciousness and soul.

In heaven, God regarded us as His children and gave all of us the same name, “Messiah.” The status of a Messiah, therefore, is not just prepared for someone special.

All of us, without exception, were given the name and status of “Messiah, a child of God,” in heav-en, before we were born on earth.

In the process of the Creation of the universe, God first sent all things to earth and then, at last, sent us human beings, granting us with the sense of self. Human beings acquiring the sense of self – this perception of “I” – is nei-ther the end result nor the pur-pose of the Creation of God. It is to make all human beings His children and give us His eternal life.

In order to meet this pur-pose, we humans on earth must return to heaven with our free will and recall what God did for us in heaven – how He endowed us with His breath, life, con-sciousness and soul and named us Messiah.

Before we were born on earth, God gave all of us His eternal life. At that time, we did not have this sense of self. As ones who now have an individu-al sense of self, we need to return to heaven and receive God’s eter-nal life “once more” and “anew”

with our own will and of our own accord.

We need to be born anew and attain the status of “Messiah, a child of God,” – the status that God granted us before we were born on earth, in heaven. This is how we can fulfill the purpose of God and live eternally. Now, God already fulfilled His purpose of Creation in Meishu-sama. Meishu-sama was able to attain the status of “Mes-siah, a child of God.” Just like us, Meishu-sama was sent to earth. In the course of his life, Meishu-sa-ma came to a conviction that God and heaven existed within him. With his own will, he decided to return to this internal heaven to-gether with all humanity and all things, and received God’s eternal life “once more” and “anew.” He re-ceived it and filled his whole body – every single cell – with it. Thus, Meishu-sama fulfilled God’s pur-pose of Creation and attained the status of “Messiah, a child of God.”

Kyoshu-sama. the 4th Spiritual Leader – February 4th 2016

There are many approaches to divinity and spirituality. Human-ity has searched for God since its earliest recorded history. During various periods masters and great teachers have appeared, to show the way to a better understanding of God and a wider knowledge of spiritual matters.

The world is in a period of rap-id change. Never before has the human race experienced such a critical time as it is experiencing now. It is confronted by innumer-able problems in every direction. This is the struggle for the birth of the New Civilization. Humanity is standing at the crossroads in the great transitional period between the old era of semi- darkness and the new era of Light. Especially for this moment, we believe, God sent our beloved Meishu-sama, Mokichi Okada, founder of the Johrei Move-ment.

Our spiritual organization, Sekai Kyusei Kyo, is based upon revelations given to him concern-ing the coming Daylight Age. Our purpose is to bring about the real-ization of Paradise on Earth. The Direct Light of God is being re-leased, which was kept in abeyance through the long Age of Night. The Light will transform our world into the Daylight Age and will awaken humanity to spiritual awareness so it may attain this goal. Spiritual

awareness is the key to the New Civilization, and spiritual evolu-tion is accelerating now, hand in hand with true scientific prog-ress.

Meishu-sama revealed that Paradise on Earth is an ideal world free of disease, poverty and conflict. Buddha foretold the coming of a perfect world. Many other teachers and saints of the past made similar predictions. While the time of their fulfill-ment was never clearly outlined, Meishu-sama revealed that the hour is near at hand.

When this world is trans-formed into Paradise on Earth, humanity will be exceeding-ly happy. In order for the New Civilization to be brought into existence, the old one must be cleansed of all its impurities. The decision-maker in all mat-ters will be God, Who will des-ignate those deemed worthy of

being the builders of, as well as the dwellers in, this earthly par-adise.

We must, therefore, do every thing possible to improve and purify ourselves spiritually, men-tally and physically, so we may qualify for the coming New Civi-lization, as well as be competent to aid in its construction. Only in this way can we safely pass through the difficult transitional period we have entered.

Just how can we prepare our-selves for this change? By having the clouds removed from our spir-itual bodies; by having the prop-er mental attitude; by having the toxins removed from our physical bodies.

When the clouds fade from the spiritual body, there is a radi-ant joy that permeates the entire mental and physical being. When mental processes are rightly fo-cused, ego disappears. Selfishness then gives way to selflessness. Hate and fear bow to love, and evil is transformed into virtue.

When disease is eradicated, youth, beauty, charm and poise will prevail. There will be no room for sickness, poverty and conflict.

Sekai Kyusei Kyo offers a way of bringing about these changes. Meishu-sama, through Divine Guidance, brought us this bless-ing. He was endowed with the

pared heaven before beginning His work of creation of the visible world. In this heaven, God bore the spirits of all things as well as the spirits of human beings who were to become children of God. Each one of the spirits of human beings was named Messiah and it was through the spirits of Messi-ah that God created everything in the Universe.

All things in the Universe and we humans, therefore, are one un-der the name of Messiah. We were connected to all things before the creation of the Universe and are one with them now, at this very moment.

All things, including our men-tal and sensory faculties and all the cells of our body, serve in, lis-ten to and obediently follow the Will of God so as to make us chil-dren of God. Without all things, we cannot become God’s children. For us to become God’s children is the purpose of the creation of God.

With the beginning of this New Year, I would like to surrender my whole self, recognizing that God uses all things and myself as one and that the Will of God extends to all things and to myself.

God is eternal and alive. He lives and works within us and within all things. As we age, our body gradually weakens and per-ishes. But our true body is not the physical body that is des-tined to pass away. Each one of us is endowed with a “spiritual body,” which is the soul, life and consciousness of God. Within us there exists a soul of God – a glori-ous and living spiritual body. This spiritual body that each one of us has is our true body, our true self and our true “I.” To this day, we only have treasured the “I” of our physical self. I believe we have forgotten and disrespected our true “I” – the “I” of God existing within us. This “I” of our physical self must return to the heaven ex-isting within us and become one

with the “I” of God. The “I” of our physical self will one day perish. But if it can be merged into one with the “I” of the eternal and liv-ing God, we are able to unite with eternity and be born anew as true children of God.

Meishu-sama achieved this. He was able to become one with the “I” of God and be born anew as a child of God, a Messiah. As his followers, we need to follow in his footsteps and become one with the “I” of God within us. That is why we have to believe in the name of Messiah, because it is through this holy name that God forgives, saves and welcomes us into His heaven and it is through this holy name that God nurtures us to ac-quire eternal life.

“Salvation” means that we believe in the forgiveness of God and have encountered our true “I” – our true Father who is in heav-en. The “construction of Paradise

on Earth” means that we who live on earth make a conscious effort to return to heaven in the name of Messiah, become one with God and construct a heaven of God within ourselves. And to tell this truth to as many people as possi-ble is how we can be a part of the “salvation of humanity,” taught by Meishu-sama.

In one of his hymns, Meis-hu-sama writes,

How joyful it is!The light of God is now shining

gloriously! The darkness of the whole Must have vanished completelThe light of God has already

shone upon everything and has reached the deepest and darkest part of each one of our hearts.

This light has the power to for-give and save. We tend to think that God’s forgiveness is directed only at our evil nature. But the saving light of God shines up-

on the things we think are good and bad both at the same time. His eyes are upon everything we do and think. He is not watching over us to judge whether we are good or evil but to welcome every-thing into His heaven and bring salvation to all.

We do not need to hide any-thing from God. So whatever you think, whether it is a positive thought or negative thought, and whatever you do, whether it is a good act or wrong act, talk to God and say, “I thank You, because Your eyes are upon everything I think and do! In the name of Mes-siah, which is one with Meishu-sa-ma, I surrender my whole being to You as one that has already been forgiven and saved. Please use me as You wish!”

When we face a difficult situa-tion or person, it is the very time when God is trying to communi-cate with us. Through our daily

struggle, God wants us to realize that our judgment and perspec-tive on an issue or on a person is limited, narrow and self-centered. So before we cast our final judg-ment on something, we should talk to God and say, “From my perspective, I think this issue or this person appears to be like this. But to You, God, how do You see this? I do not want to serve myself. I want to serve You. So please use my eyes as Yours, my ears as Yours and my thoughts as Yours, and teach me Your true judgment.” Every single moment, God is alive within us, communi-cating with us and listening to our voices directed toward Him.

God is our true Parent. He stands always by our side and is ever faithful. For a long time, we, humanity, were ignorant of this true God. Yes, we have thought and said in words that “we know God,” “we believe in God” and “we serve God,” but I feel that we have been creating an image of God that is convenient for us.

E v e r y t h i n g belongs to God. But haven’t we stolen things like “gratitude,” “love” and “acts” from God and forced ourselves and others to “thank others,” “love oth-ers” and “act for others?” Haven’t we stolen words like “Paradise on Earth” and “sal-vation” from God and used them to express our own thoughts rather than God’s? Ha-ven’t we stolen all these things that belong to God as if they were ours and conveniently used them to advance and communicate our own will and objective rather than

The mark on Mt. Nokogiri where Meishu-sama received the revelation about transition from

the age of night to the daylight age.

God’s Will and Objective? However, God does not want

to condemn us for stealing His possessions. He is saying to us that He has forgiven everything we have done, are doing and will do. So, in the name of Messiah, which is one with Meishu-sama, let us repent and sincerely wish to meet the true God whose love is boundless.

As I always say, the Will and Objective of God is one: to have us be newly born as His children, as His Messiahs. This is God’s mis-sion. That means this is our mis-sion, too. Do not be ambiguous about this point. We always say that “our mission is to create Par-adise on Earth.” But how can this earth be heaven if we forget the mission of God? How can anyone attain true happiness unless one becomes aware of one’s true mis-sion of becoming a child of God, a Messiah?

To tell you the truth, we, hu-manity, have forgotten the mis-sion determined by God. But Meishu-sama, through his life led

4

by God, taught us that our mission is to become a child of God. That is why Meishu-sama declared, a year before he passed away, that he was newly born as a Messiah. Is not this the most important teaching of Meishu-sama that he left for us? Is not this what we have to aim for if we call ourselves a follower of Meishu-sama?

How happy we are to know the mission of God through Mei-shu-sama! To know our true God, our true Parent, and to know that we can be His children – if this is not salvation, what is? We were lost and forgot who we were and where we were going. But Meis-hu-sama came to this world with the light of God and shed light on the path we have to walk – the path of being born anew as a child of God.

In the name of Messiah, which is one with Meishu-sama, let us awaken to the mission of God! Let us return to heaven as ones who are forgiven and saved! And let us serve in the ever new work of God!

God is now making all things new and all humanity be born anew as His children. I, together with all things, all ancestors, all of you and all of those who are to come to the earth, would like to offer my most sincere praise to God who governs, sustains and achieves all.

May God and the name of Mes-siah be praised for ever and ever.

Retold by

To donate or not to donate? That was the question that lin-gered through Sonia’s mind as she contemplated whether or not to make a donation at last month’s Appreciation Service in the Bos-ton Center, in Arlington, Massa-chusetts.

Sonia Caissey, a long-time missionary and member (since October 19, 1997) recalled stand-ing in front of the altar prior to the beginning of the Apprecia-tion Service and second guessing herself as to whether or not she should make a donation (even though intuitively she knew it to be the right thing to do). Strapped for cash, she convinced herself to hold off on making the donation while comforting herself with the idea that she would make up for the missed opportunity at the next monthly service. Giving lit-

tle to no thought about the occur-rence, Sonia, went on about her day as usual and left the Johrei Center following the Appreciation Service.

On her way home, she decided to stop at the local supermarket in order to purchase some flowers for her flower arranging business. Flowers were in high demand at the time due to the holiday which was fast approaching and Sonia couldn’t pass up on the opportu-nity to pick up some flowers at a discounted price. As she entered the supermarket, she carefully chose the flowers that looked the best and placed them in her shop-ping cart along with her wallet. After perusing through the aisles and purchasing the items, Sonia recalled leaving the supermarket in a hurry as it was cold, windy and rainy out.

She scurried through the parking lot right to her car and loaded up her belongings. She then headed back to the store to drop off her shopping cart. As she was running through the parking lot, a gentleman approached her and offered to take her cart back so she wouldn’t have to go all the way back to the store in order to drop it off in the rain. She passed on the cart over to the gentleman and thanked the man for his kind gesture and hurried back to her car to seek shelter from the rain.

As she started up her car, So-nia realized that her wallet had been missing and that she had left it in the shopping cart. Frantical-ly, she turned off the car, opened the car door and hurried back to the store in order to retrieve her wallet, but the wallet was no where to be found. Immediately,

Meishu-Sama, whose birth-name was Mokichi Okada, was born on December 23, 1882, in Hashiba-cho, Asakusa, a pover-ty stricken area of Tokyo, Japan. He passed away on February 10, 1955, in Atami, Japan. He began his adult career as a business-man/merchant. Then in 1926, he started receiving various revela-tions fron God. On June 15, 1931, he climbed Mt. Nokogiri, East of Tokyo, and received a major rev-elation regarding the transition from the age of night to the day-light age in the spiritual realm. Based on this revelation, he initiated a spiritual movement, which is now known in Japan as

Sekai Kyusei Kyo (a spiritual group to help the entire world), on January 1, 1935. Since then, this new spiritual group has spread

to all corners of the world. Mil-lions of men and women through-out the world look up to him as their teacher, and call him, with respect and affection, Meishu-sa-ma (Enlightened Spiritual Lead-er).

We hope this introduction to his life and mission will convey to you the essence of this remark-able man.

Direct Light that God is releas-ing for the Daylight Age. Not only could Meishu-sama transmit this Divine Light, but he learned how to focus it so all members might also share it. God intends to save humanity from self-destruction and bring about a new and con-structive civilization by working through the individuals compris-ing it. Each one, therefore, must do his or her part toward the re-alization of this plan for life more abundant.

The transmitting is called Johrei, which is a Japanese word

[coined by Meishu-sama] mean-ing the purifying of the spiritu-al body by the Divine Light of God. It is prayer in action. Joh-rei disperses the clouds on the spiritual body. As it is purified, it becomes more radiant; and mental and physical wellbeing is re-established in accordance with the Divine Pattern.
