Hi! My name is Jerker Porat, from Sweden and I am one of the speaker on this conference. You get this PDF in advance of the conference as a handout. In the end of this document you will find my e-mail and a link to the OneNote I will use during the lecture! I work in a secondary school and right now I have two coach project running. The two coach project runs on quite different perspectives. I will use this two projects as an example of how peer-coaching makes changes in the school. 1. In my first project, where I coach one of my collegue, my intention is to reach my other collegues, through my first collegue. In my lectures, I name myself as "ICT-expert and GOD of ICT", I name my collegues as "dont know, but want to know" and finally "dont know and dont want to". The reason why there are some collegues that dont want to use ICT is often that they are afraid of the tachnology and they dont have the knowledge and selfconfidence to use it in classes. But when they see that one of their collegue who are on same level of ICT knowledge as themselves can learn to use ICT, the become more curious, and suddenly, they want to learn. Your network grows. In my second project, I'm coaching my collegues that works with students with special needs, and there are six of them in my school district. I cant coach them at the same time, so I coach two of them and they can then learn thier collegues what we just been speaking about and the next time I meet them, they can get answers to questions they got during thier sessions and feedback from me. By doing that, their level of knowledge and selfconfidence growth by first being coached by me, then spread the knowledge to the other collegue. I will use this picture to explain this chain of coaching.

Hi!

My name is Jerker Porat, from Sweden and I am one of the speaker on this conference.

You get this PDF in advance of the conference as a handout. In the end of this document you will find

my e-mail and a link to the OneNote I will use during the lecture!

I work in a secondary school and right now I have two coach project running. The two coach project

runs on quite different perspectives. I will use this two projects as an example of how peer-coaching

makes changes in the school.

1. In my first project, where I coach one of my collegue, my intention is to reach my other collegues,

through my first collegue. In my lectures, I name myself as "ICT-expert and GOD of ICT", I name my

collegues as "dont know, but want to know" and finally "dont know and dont want to".

The reason why there are some collegues that dont want to use ICT is often that they are afraid of

the tachnology and they dont have the knowledge and selfconfidence to use it in classes. But when

they see that one of their collegue who are on same level of ICT knowledge as themselves can learn

to use ICT, the become more curious, and suddenly, they want to learn. Your network grows.

In my second project, I'm coaching my collegues that works with students with special needs, and

there are six of them in my school district. I cant coach them at the same time, so I coach two of

them and they can then learn thier collegues what we just been speaking about and the next time I

meet them, they can get answers to questions they got during thier sessions and feedback from me.

By doing that, their level of knowledge and selfconfidence growth by first being coached by me, then

spread the knowledge to the other collegue. I will use this picture to explain this chain of coaching.

Why is it so important to coach your collegues. Well, it's all about wheels actually. If you invent a

wheel during your classes, and your collegue does the same, there will never be anything but a

wheel. By sharing eachothers ideas, you will build on someones elses wheel and improve it. In the

end, you and your collegue has invented the car.

I will also, as the end of this lecture show you some of the strength in the software OneNote, that is a

part of MS Office and why I think that OneNote is the perfect software for coaching your collegues

and how I use it my classroom.

You will be able to download the OneNote-document as a PDF at http://theblog.webskolan.se just

after my lecture.

Please contact me if you have any further questions at [email protected]. I'm available for

workshops or lectures in Latvia.
