Hi Blair Stars! It’s time for our Dr Seuss Week! The books and activities this week will center around our favorite Dr Seuss rhymes. Oh the places you will go! We were in the middle of celebrating Dr Seuss’ birthday when we had to leave school back in March. We had just read Green Eggs and Ham, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and 10 Apples up on Top but have included some fun review activities because they are such wonderful stories to share again and again! Miss Kate and Miss Maggie Hola Blair Stars! -Get a bucket and then go on a rainbow
scavenger hunt around your house. Once your bucket is full of fun and colorful items,
practice sorting colors. Talk about all the different textures and sizes.
-We couldn’t miss the chance to share a
reading from our Blair friend Ms. Dana! Take a peek at the beautiful reading of “All Our
Welcome”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PjiEGsipNw
&feature=youtu.be
-Make a bunch of balloons using different colors (make sure they are not latex if you have an allergy) Can you keep them off the
ground? If you don’t have the real thing, use paper and attach strings.
-Make a color chart using paint, crayons, or even colorful ice cubes with food coloring
that are left out in the sun!

-in a small tub of water, see which of your waterproof toys sink and which ones float! Make sure to have a towel nearby in case
there are some extra splashes and an adult is always nearby when working with water.
-”Fish” for the letters of the alphabet or the letters of your name.
We know how much many of you love bubbles

and a story about a fish seems like the perfect chance to have some more bubble
fun! Blow and pop bubbles, count them, and watch them float away!
-Time for some fish artwork. Use a tool, like a fork to make a fun blowfish, or a hand or foot makes a cute goldfish swimming by. For our
friends that like to hold things, maybe make a fish out of pipe cleaners. Can you catch a fish
with a pipe cleaner hook?

Roll put some dough and practice creating
the letters of your name!
Put some flour on a tray and practice making
fun shapes!
-Look for items that start with the first letter of your name. We know almost all of you will
be looking for things that start with A.
-Look for some sticks around your house and see if you create some letters or numbers.

-Go on a sound hunt around the house and even outside - what do you hear?
-How about a field trip to a farm! Explore this farm from the comfort of your home...all the
farm fun with none of the farm smells! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg2ZX0P

-Animals have many different textures. Can you find different textures throughout your
house? Look for smooth, bumpy, rough, soft, sticky, prickly.
-Listen to this chick sing about his friends https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNUDaii

Make a list of all the animal sounds that you can make or that make you smile. You can

What is your favorite way to travel?
Ask everyone in the family and then chart it?
Can you make/find a map of your favorite
walking path? Your favorite room? Your neighborhood? Have some small cars or
trains travel on your map!
Even though we are staying safe at home, you can still visit some fun and educational
destinations around the world. Oh, the places you can go on the internet! Get creative, where else would you like to
visit? Another country, maybe?
